WATCH: Lebanon’s Ramadan Ondash stars in historic main event win in Thailand
Lebanon’s Ramadan Ondash amazed the Thai audience with his toughness and boxing skills as he secured a big win against established fighter Kongchai Chanaidonmueang in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 93.
The 18-year-old Lebanese endured heavy body kicks throughout three rounds and delivered punishing boxing combinations in the headline bout of the 93rd installment of ONE Championship’s weekly fight series.
In a fast-paced strawweight Muay Thai bout, Ondash searched for the knockout punch from the start, unloading with body shots and punches while cleverly dodging his Thai opponent’s high kicks – and in other instances, catching the kicks, and firing back with punches.
In the last moments of the opening round, the young Lebanese fighter cornered Kongchai, unleashing 10 unanswered punches including a vicious uppercut that wobbled his Thai opponent.
Kongchai continued his efforts to damage Ondash’s right arm and midsection with his left kicks, but Ondash surprised the Thai fighter with a counter left hook that dropped him onto the canvas, scoring the first knockdown of the evening.
Knowing that he was trailing on points, Kongchai entered the third and final round needing a knockout. The Thai stepped forward and delivered countless kicks to the midsection, but Ondash showed unrivaled toughness to absorb the strikes, and score a historic win.
With this win, Ondash raises his clean ONE record to 3-0 and his overall professional record to 11-2.
