Aoun: Cabinet has authority of taking decisions, not parties or sects

President Joseph Aoun told a Cabinet session on Thursday that “Cabinet possesses the authority of taking decisions, not parties or sects.”

“We are here to take decisions, not to obstruct, and all eyes are on us in this regard,” Aoun added.

Briefing Cabinet on his latest visit to Saudi Arabia, the president said “there is Saudi willingness to help Lebanon once the needed reforms are made.”

“I stressed during the meeting that the reforms are a Lebanese demand before being a foreign demand, and that we intend to carry them out in light of Lebanon’s need for them,” Aoun added.

He also revealed that there will be “a second expected visit to Saudi Arabia after Eid al-Fitr, in which a number of ministers will take part to sign agreements between the two countries, which will give an impetus to Lebanon.”
