Trump threatens Houthis with 'major military punishment'

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened Yemen's Houthi rebels with "major military punishment" after they launched missile and drone strikes on oil tankers in the Red Sea.

"The U.S. will hold Iran responsible, in that the Houthis are a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran, and major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis themselves" should the rebels launch further attacks, Trump said on his Truth Social network.

"I am considering a massive attack [on Iran]. Bigger than ever before. I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it," the US president told Axios [Israel] on Thursday.
Israel "would join in two minutes if I ask them to," but the US doesn't "need anybody" for the potential new round of aggression, Trump added. (End of Sputnik quotation)
It seems Trump continues to be the hand-puppet for Netanyahu or whomever Netanyahu reports to. But we went through all this a few months ago, when the general damage done to the global economy (Brent crude has now crossed hundred dollar boundary again and ten-year-bond yield is 4.7%, which Google says is as high as it got earlier this year: alarm bells loud and clear) caused Israel/Trump to back down.

Is this another suicide attempt which will be dramatically called off at the last second?  The only proper and reasonable response to someone's suicide attempt is "better luck next time".  I.e., face life without all the dramatics or leave me alone.
We'll see how far the crazy act lasts: I think some people really get trapped in it.  Trump and Israel may be almost there.  But "almost" is God's territory.

It's about time that somebody put those Houthi rebel terrorists in their place. for years they have been in rebellion against the recognised government of their country even occupying the capital Sana'a, they have fought against Saudi Arabia, attacked shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb, yet somehow flights and ships from their patron and controller Iran still manage to reach there. How many ports and airports can they possibly have that need destroying?
