Zelensky says Ukrainian strikes hit warehouses supplying Russian army
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday hailed strikes against Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries, which he claimed was providing drone components for Russia's army to wage its invasion of Ukraine.
"The operation against Russian logistics, which supplies the occupying army with drone components, navigation equipment, and military gear, remains underway," Zelensky said on social media, praising the strikes as "successful."
Blasts meanwhile rang out over the Ukrainian capital on Friday, after officials warned of a rare incoming daytime missile attack from Russia.
Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents to take shelter and said air defenses were at work in the city.
Iran has condemned a Ukrainian strike on a cargo ship in the Caspian Sea that killed one sailor and injured another.
In a post on X on Saturday, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky boasted about what he called “very strong results” from long-range strikes targeting “vessels used in military cargo shipments involving Iran, as well as a warship.” ...
Zelensky said on Saturday that he would instruct Ukraine’s intelligence agencies to share “the information we have regarding Russia’s new assistance to the Iranian regime” with partner countries.(RT)
That "share" remark from Zelensky was in a posting on Ukrinform.net, which also contained these remarks: "According to the President, there is a clear correlation between Russian satellite imagery and Iranian strikes, both before attacks and afterward, when the images are used to assess the damage inflicted.
"'On July 19 and 20 alone, four air bases fell within the area of interest of Russian satellites – two in Bahrain, one in Jordan, and one in Kuwait. The purpose is clear. None of us in the world should turn a blind eye to one very simple fact: evil always seeks ways to make things worse and spread further,' Zelensky stressed."
Okay, Zelensky is losing his grip. Maybe winning was too much for him.
Did he mention that his attacking the Iranian ship had made him instantly unpopular around the world, made him look like he was sucking up to Trump, or worse, Israel?
Since WWII, international law seems to forbid nations expanding at neighbors' expense, Israel excepted. Zelensky should insist on this. Trump would love for Zelensky to cede eastern Ukraine to Russia. Zelensky should focus on what he means by evil. He's looking weak, as in indecisive. Sputnik (Russian state media) has a story about Zelensky warning Ukrainians that a very tough winter lies ahead. He seems to have hit Russia's economy really hard. Now is no time to get whacky.
