"AStarApps" the 12th Team to Qualify for this Year's MIT Semi-Finalist Round
Egyptian “AStarApps” has been selected as one of the semi-finalist teams for this year’s MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab Region Start-Up Competition for the Start-up Track
AStarApps is a crowd sourcing platform for the beta testing of mobile applications, where early adopters, testers and app developers can meet and contribute to the amelioration of the latest apps.

With more than 400,000 mobile application developers worldwide producing 1.2 million smartphone apps yearly the need for a beta testers is needed now more than ever.
AStarApps provides developers with access to a wide range of finely selected beta users so as to test their apps before introducing them to the app store. This is to help developers avoid getting negative reviews when they release their apps while instead getting feedback from the targeted users. The developer can also access usage and devices statistics of each user while testing the app. The only thing that the developer needs to do is to download our free SDK from our website and include it in the app using a single line of code, and then upload the application file on our website. While other competitors offer just a single feature; AStarApps is the only crowdsourcing testing platform with strong feedback tools for beta users. The company also allows local developers to reach global beta testers to tests their applications before they are released which further improves the quality of applications.
The company which was co-founded by Moataz Soliman and Omar Gabr has been incubated by Flat6labs since June 2012 and has been able to secure more than 90 business deals since. The company also expanded its team to include four additional members all of whom are passionate about the start-up world.

AStarApps will attend a two day workshop in Qatar in April 25 along with 49 other teams, where they will receive coaching, training and network with other entrepreneurs from the Arab region and meet the region’s major players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Semi-finalist ideas or startups in ICT, digital media, and mobile will automatically qualify for the Oasis 500 training and acceleration program http://www.oasis500.com/ , which is a six-day training program that covers all business aspects, including business modeling, financials, pitching, facilitation and marketing.
