French Entertainment Industry Demands 50 Mn Euros in Govt. Aid over Paris Attacks

France's live entertainment industry -- which has been badly hit by the Paris terror attacks -- demanded 50 million euros ($53 million) in state aid Tuesday to help it get over the crisis.

The industry group Prodiss welcomed the four million euros promised by Culture Minister Fleur Pellerin days after the November 13 attacks on a string of targets including the Bataclan concert venue where 90 people died, but said it was not enough.

The dress was chief highlight in a sale of nearly 400 pieces of Hollywood memorabilia organized by the auction house and Turner Classic Movies that netted total sales of more than $4 million.

Adele Album on Track for Record Sales

The long-awaited new album by Adele, "25," looks set to break the modern record for first week sales, the makers of the benchmark U.S. chart said Saturday.

Billboard, the music industry journal that publishes weekly charts, said that "25," released on Friday, appeared likely to sell at least 2.5 million copies in the United States.
