Experts Visit Iran Uranium Mine for First Time in Years

Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency visited Iran's Gachin uranium mine on Wednesday for the first time in nine years, Iranian officials said.

"The inspectors expressed their satisfaction after having visited different parts of the mine," said Mohammed Amiri, an official of Iran's Atomic Energy Agency, quoted by state news agency IRNA.

A Jerusalem court sentenced an ultra-Orthodox anti-Zionist Israeli Jew to four-and-a-half years prison Tuesday for attempting to spy for arch-foe Iran, a court document read.

Yitzhak Bergel, a member of the radical Neturei Karta group that opposes the existence of the state of Israel, admitted as part of a plea bargain to having contacted the Iranian embassy in Berlin in 2011 to offer intelligence, and staying in contact with Iranian diplomats after returning to Israel.

Indian Police Arrest Man over Alleged Rape of 4-Year-Old Iranian

Indian police said Tuesday they had arrested a man in the tourist state of Goa for allegedly raping a four-year-old Iranian girl holidaying with her mother.

Goan police arrested the 32-year-old man on Monday after the alleged attack on the girl on January 22 in the northern village of Arpora, where he lived and the Iranians were staying, police inspector Paresh Naik said.

Kuwaiti Coastguard Seize Iranian Boat

The Kuwaiti coastguard seized on Monday an Iranian boat carrying 12 Iranians and two Afghans that had entered the Gulf state's territorial waters, the interior ministry and a security source said.

Patrols spotted the boat after it entered Kuwaiti waters early in the morning, seized the vessel and detained all 14 on board, the ministry said in a statement.

Iran Says No Need for U.N. Watchdog Office in Tehran

A senior Iranian official Saturday dismissed the need for a Tehran office for U.N. inspectors tasked with monitoring Iran's partial nuclear freeze, Mehr news agency said.
