Gunmen attacked three container trucks carrying NATO supplies en route to Afghanistan in Pakistan's troubled northwest on Monday, killing two people, officials said.

The trucks came under fire in the Wazir Dhand area of Khyber, one of seven districts that make up Pakistan's semi-autonomous tribal belt, as they were on their way to Afghanistan. 

Two separate bomb attacks targeting security forces in Pakistan killed 19 people on Friday, officials said, the latest violence to hit peace talks between the government and Taliban militants.

A suicide attack in the suburbs of the northwestern city of Peshawar, close to the lawless tribal areas that are a haven for Taliban and Al-Qaida linked militants, was followed a few hours later by a bombing in the southwestern city of Quetta.

A former minister of the Afghan Taliban who was in favor of peace talks with the Kabul government was gunned down in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar on Monday, Afghan Taliban sources said.

"Armed assailants riding on a motorbike shot Mullah Abdul Raqeeb, a former minister for refugees during the Taliban regime, killing him on the spot," a member of the Afghan Taliban in Pakistan told Agence France Presse.

A triple grenade attack on a cinema showing pornography in northwest Pakistan killed 12 people on Tuesday as government and Taliban negotiators met for a second round of peace talks.

It was the second such attack within two weeks on a cinema in the city of Peshawar, which has been on the front line of Pakistan's homegrown Islamist insurgency.

A suicide bomber killed four women in northwest Pakistan on Monday in an attempted attack on mourners at a funeral, police said.

The blast hit a house in Peshawar, a frontline city in Pakistan's battle against Islamist insurgents, close to where a group of people were holding funeral prayers, senior police official Najeeb Ur Rehman told Agence France Presse.

Two gunmen in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar shot dead a policeman standing guard outside a Hindu temple on Sunday, officials said, later fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

The attack, which occurred in the downtown Jhanda Bazar area, was the latest target connected to Pakistan's minorities who make up some two percent of the country's population of 180 million.

A bomb blast at an Islamic preaching center in troubled northwest Pakistan on Thursday killed at least nine people and wounded more than 50, officials said.

The explosion took place at a center run by the hardline Tablighi Jamaat group just meters from the military cantonment in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan and has been hit by numerous bombings in recent years.

A U.S. drone strike targeting a militant compound killed at least three suspected insurgents in a restive Pakistani tribal region near the Afghan border late Wednesday, officials said.

The attack took place around midnight in Qutab Khel village, five kilometers (three miles) south of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan tribal region, a stronghold for Taliban and al-Qaida linked militants.

A bomb exploded in a bustling food market in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore on Thursday, killing one person and wounding 13 others, officials said.

The blast hit Anarkali bazaar in the old city area of Lahore, Pakistan's second-largest city and capital of relatively peaceful Punjab province.
