Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat may meet with former Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Paris, revealed a March 14 source to the Kuwaiti al-Anbaa newspaper on Sunday.

It said that he may hold the talks with the former premier in the upcoming hours before returning to Lebanon.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat stressed on Wednesday the need for peaceful demonstrations to take place within legal norms in order to maintain freedom of expression that preserves Lebanon’s diversity.

He said in a statement: “The transformation of some of Beirut’s neighborhoods into closed security zones does not benefit any side as the capital belongs to all Lebanese and it harbors all political views.”

The progressive Socialist Party media department announced on Monday that PSP leader MP Walid Jumblat will not issue his weekly editorial in al-Anbaa magazine “because now is not the time to make speeches and lectures.”

“Now is not the time to drown in the boring Lebanese details, but it is the time to show solidarity, even if only on a moral level, with oppressed people,” it added.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat is expected to show more differences in his point of view from those of the March 8 forces, especially regarding the Syrian developments.

High-ranking opposition sources told An Nahar daily in remarks published on Monday that Jumblat’s stance in his weekly editorial in al-Anbaa newspaper should be observed.

Jumblat told As Safir newspaper that the attack on the UNIFIL is “suspicious” and it might be intended to cause vacuum in the south, which will lead to a minimized presence for these forces in the area.
