you're forgetting a tiny little detail here, like the hundreds of mustaqbal fighters who were brought in before the clashes started and were instructed to shoot on protesters. or the fact that most of these militiamen were captured and handed to the army unharmed. most the dead were killed by mustaqbal (like the halba massacre) or in the chouf by joumblatt's men.
HA acted in self-defense, and all things considered they acted extremely responsibly.

there's no way this can compare with what happened in arsal.

the investigations and the trial established it was an accident (what you can call friendly fire) by a resistant who thought it was an israeli attack. he was sentenced and served his time.
