indeed, i dont understand how they imagined they could trust turkey. the rebels in syria are armed trained & supported by turkey, and they are organizing most of their operations from there. and they thought turkey would help the innocent hostages????
lol you really live in fantasy world do you?
first here they are not operatives, but pilgrims, and everybody knows they are innocent.
second they, as Lebanese citizens, have as much right as you to be protected by their state
and third, you saying hezbollah "begged" siniora is pure hallucination and it only makes me laugh to see how much you need to fabricate stupidities and force yourself to believe them, in order to overcome your inferiority complex.
slash stop blinding yourself, this is one more proof that some extremist sides are working with israel to create chaos and then try to pin it on hezbollah. with these numbers of detonators i wonder what they were planning on doing, road-side bombs against convoys of the unifil? targeted assassinations like hariri's, tueni's, kassir's ... ?
you still think israel gives a damn about any side in lebanon? they're just using you like chair a canon against hezbollah.
and you know that how exactly? oh yea, you just hate one side so decided to pin it on them. might work on cheeseburger brains and sectarian haters, but sorry, i'll pass on the silly conclusions and hollow accusations. till now there is much more evidence that israel did it, and the crimes only serve their interests. so if i had to guess like you do, i'd say israel killed them.
slash you're cutting the corners to get to that conclusion. some weapons are necessary, and serve a vital necessity (=protecting our country from the threatening neighbor, who regularly assaulted us, occupied and plundered our resources) some other weapons are here only to create chaos and serve foreign interests. the army command is not stupid, don't you think they know what they are doing when they tolerate the resistance weapons?
also regarding that case you mention, "guy in the north killing him and pretending that he is armed", to my knowledge it doesnt correspond to a real case, or else please enlighten me. (hope you're not talking about the car that refused to stop at a checkpoint in the midst of security chaos? because that would be a very distorted way to describe it)
slash, if there was anymore threats from Syria, i would agree with you, and say let them carry weapons and defend themselves.
But as you say, Syrians left (when we all asked them to, in 2005, without a single bullet fired) and nothing indicates they will come back (unless the extremists waging the current rebellion get to power, and you will, i promise you, see Syria's dominance come back to Lebanon 10 times worse than it ever was)
What we saw recently was the north being used as training grounds and rear bases for attacks in Syria. IF we really wanted to stay out of the Syrian mess, this was NOT the way to go.
About the car yes slash, i'm sorry but no matter who or where, especially in very tense security situations can burst through an army checkpoint without exposing themselves to being shot at. What do you expect the army to do? Sit and watch as cars just stop if they wish, and speed though if they dont want to stop?
regarding some explosions which targeted hezbollah people or buildings, yes i see where you're coming from when you say you want the army to investigate, but i also see why they need to do their own investigations and protect their defense secrets. can you really not live with the idea that if a hezbollah area is attacked/bombed, hezbollah will deal with it? how does that prevent you from living your everyday life unbothered?
