الراعي ينفي بشدة استقالته: كذب وتلفيق وقدمنا اعتذارا للفاتيكان

أبدى البطريرك الماروني بشارة الراعي أسفه الشديد للأخبار المتداولة عن استقالته من منصبه، قائلا أن المعلومات "كذب وتلفيق" وكاشفا أنه قدم اعتذارا للفاتيكان عن هذه المعلومات.
وقال الراعي بعيد وصوله من الفاتيكان في مطار رفيق الحريري الدولي عصر الثلاثاء "آسف على أن في لبنان أناس يحبون الكذب ويختلقون الأخبار وأنا أصبحت معتادا".
وتابع "صغرنا كثيرا عندما رأينا وسائل الإعلام تتناقل الكذب والكذب والتلفيق".
وإذ أشار إلى أنه "ليس جميلا أن يكون الإعلام في لبنان منبرا للكذب ونتأمل من حبل الكذب أن ينتهي" قال الراعي "أنا متشبث بالشركة والمحبة والتلفيق والشر مرفوض".
من جهة أخرى رد الراعي على سؤال بالقول "نحن عشنا مع إخواننا المسلمين ونبني مجتمعاتنا بالقيم الإسلامية والمسيحية منذ 1400 سنة وهذا الشرق يكون فيه المسيحي قيمة مضافة والمسلم قيمة مضافة".
أما عن تفجيري بئر حسن سأل الراعي "هل الإنتحار وقتل الناس شيء من الدين؟ أو القيم الإنسانية؟".
وحول المعلومات عن زيارة محتملة إلى إيران قال "أي دعوة توجه لي ألبيها ونحن لا نقفل باب الحوار مع أحد وثقافتنا هي الإنفتاح والتواصل وليس لدينا أي مصلحة شخصية مع أحد لذلك نحاور الجميع".
أضاف "نحن في لبنان ضحية الخلافات ونتمنى أن تتسع اللقاءات التي حصلت في جنيف لتشمل دول المنطقة بدءا من النزاع الإسرائيلي الفلسطيني إلى النزاعات في دول الشرق".
وردا على سؤال حول زيارة البابا فرانسيس إلى لبنان قال ضاحكا "لم نتمكن أن نفاتح البابا بزيارته إلى لبنان لأننا خجلنا من معلومات تقيل كاردينالا وتضع آخر".
وكان قد أوردت صحيفة "الشرق" في عددها الصادر الاثنين انه "خلال أسابيع على الأكثر (وربما خلال ايام) سيستقيل الراعي من مسؤولياته في البطريركية المارونية، ليرتقي إلى موقع كنسي رفيع جداً هو رئاسة المجمع الشرقي في الفاتيكان".
وأضافت أن "البابا فرنسيس الأول سيتلقي ساندري في أوائل كانون الأول المقبل، وينتظر أن ينتهي اللقاء باستقالة رئيس المجمع الشرقي الذي سيبلغه قداسة البابا قرار إعفائه ليخلفه الراعي".

I wonder what he tells the Pope when the Pope asks why the thirty five percent of Lebanese registered as Christian get the same number of seats in Parliament as the sixty five percent registered as Muslims. (Of course, these demographic numbers are estimates since no census has been taken in almost eighty years. The fifty-fifty split in Parliament seats is a true number, however; al Rahi always calls this "equality".) Does the Pope look at him and say, "You don't look like you're twice as virtuous as a Muslim, and I certainly don't fee like I'm twice as virtuous as a Muslim."

I wonder what you tell yourself as to why Lebanon was a better place when Christians represented over 60% of the population. And what you tell yourself as to why Arab countries and Iran are so messed up eventhough they are almost all Muslims. Get over that broken record of yours (count by sect) and suggest something useful for the country.

There's no country in the world that doesn't count its citizens living abroad. If this was to happen in Lebanon, the Christian Lebanese would count more than 85% of Lebanon's population which bring me to you point: should the Christians ask for 85% seats in the parliament? The Christians in Lebanon were always a majority; but, despite that they accepted sharing equally the seats in parliament with the Muslims because they believe in sharing. Your comment therefore is void of value and full of vengance.
