Dear Mr. Fletcher, honestly, what do you expect to achieve here, honestly? In the Ukraine, you and the other western powers have been reduced to making some pathetic moves that caused anything but tiny clicks in the world of diplomacy, the Russian bear hardly knew! The Crimean peninsula now is all but lost. Now if God forbids, a full scale war was to erupt in Lebanon, again, what do you expect to do but simply send again a few warships, not for anything that will help Lebanon, but to extricate your nationals from our troubles. These are indeed hard times Mr. Fletcher, especially for being an ally of the West, let alone Britain.

I respect this guy (Fletcher) if only for one thing, he does not succumb to the ambient negativity, pessimist and cynism, which we yet again pervades through these comments...
To all these phoenix and others, I ask, what do you expect to achieve here, honestly?
If every one would be a bit more optimistic and positive, it would at least be better then nothing, and with a little here and a little there, there might be enough in the end to tip the balance and maybe make a difference... just maybe! At least we'd have tried.

Phoenix - the objective was to highlight UK suppport for the Lebanese Army effort on the borders. We're proving Land Rovers, body armour, comms and watchtowers. We tink the army deserves more support in its effort to keep the war out. This is a big task, but we're trying to do our bit.
