Choose General Aoun for President, it's the safest thing to do for Lebanon.
M14 you had your chance with Michel Suleiman, now it is our turn.
You meant to say is the safest hing to do for your Iranian funded and trained militia..you are confusing the two
Are you sure he is accepted by all lebanese? Safest? Why safty of the rest is an issue.here? It looks or maybe it's a threat?
(2). Mystic. If my memory serves me right, last time he squatted in Baabda, he got us in wars like never before, against the Syria he now serves so loyally, and the best part, when the going got tough, the rabbit simply fled only to reappear thereafter eating caviar and smoking cigars with his puppet general at the French Embassy, whilst his men died brutally at the ruthless hands of the Syrians. Geagea is far from perfect, but at least the man did not go into hiding, and has not changed his positions. Lest you remember Aoun was adamant that it was Syria that killed Rafic Hariri and Hezbollah he branded as a terrorist organization. Ya man, how can you live with that? Bass oul'li kif? Or are you going to give me that old story about min akhad oummi sarr khali?
(1). Well ya Mystic, at least you let the cat out of the bag, (did I say that right ya Finique? :)) Michel Suleiman was possibly the best president Lebanon had after of course the greatest of them all, Bachir Gemayel (oh, please spare me the Zionist stuff). Suleiman makes HA and its allies very sore because he refused to be a shelf toy for your ambitions. When a man stands by his principles, you guys label him pro this or pro that, like you've been doing in my case lately, yet all this procrastination cannot preclude your party's wrongs either. Sadly for Aoun, the predicament hanging over his head is not a good one, it will be a bad omen for him and for us Lebanese.
"M14 you had your chance with Michel Suleiman, now it is our turn."
funny thing as M8 short memories...
i remember M8 mocking M14 when suleiman was elected, happy they were to have him... but the day the president started criticize hezbollah he became a saudi paid...
poor M8ers never able to assume their choices as cowards they are....
well then let Aoun announce officially his candidacy and let the mp's vote. Who ever gather the most support will deserve to be president. This is democracy.
Imposing Aoun is just undemocratic.
Suleiman insulted the Resistance in public, did you see anyone overthrow him no. We simply waited for his term to end. He got himself some cash from Saudi Arabia, and he lives like a king now. Ofcourse we will back General Aoun 100% he is loyal to the Resistance and he will remain their candidate. Aslong as M14 wants a President that can't accept the Resistance, then we will all remain in this deadlock.
Mystic, to be honest lately you have kind of lost that qualitative edge you seemed to have not long ago. You said that Suleiman insulted the resistance, I ask, when was that? Then again you insinuated that he took lots of cash from the Saudis, now when was that? Do you have any proofs, please, any proofs? Your comments are devastating only to yourself ya Mystic, you seem to be saying out of discomposure lately, why? Hezbollah is a reality, but it is also a reality that there are more and more people who do NOT subscribe to its unholy agenda and designs, so instead of looking at it with some pragmatism, you just let fly the lid, just like that? OK, Michel Aoun visits Iran, he remains a saint, he visit Sayed Hassan, he remains a saint?! Come now ya Mystic, only the North Koreans talk like you do these days.
Phoenix, your western loving culture, has also become
tiring. You know aswell as I do, that the Resistance lost all faith in Michel Suleiman, after his insults against the Resistance, just like you try it smear it every chance you get.
Then again, that is all you M14's Pro Israeli Lebanese are good for.
YES Phoenix, I choose Iran & Syria over Israel and USA anytime. Just like you choosed the opposite. That is why the Lebanese will never be united, yourself is part of the reason also. So stop throwing all the garbage at the Resistance.
Mystic, you do surprise don't you? Your accusations seem to be getting totally out of hand, thus leading me to say this, never argue when angry, all it does is to seriously impair your ability to reason. You're also getting personal and that my good friend is not proactive to any healthy debate. You're still labeling, just like you did to H.E president Suleiman. But you see, that's understandable coming from a people who do not live well with tolerance of any kind. If my patriotic positions do hinder you, then what can I do dear Mystic? What you seem to be missing is this: I am Lebanese, pure and simple, unlike you, I do not curtsy to anyone's interests except to my country, Lebanon. Now take it easy, this is only a debate, it's still a free world last time I checked.
Phoenix, how am I being personal? This is Naharnet not real life, I don't know your name or anything about you, just like you don't know me. We are simply two random people commenting here, yes you have a right to say your opinion, but do not expect me, to not do the same. Why do you deny, that you have foreign alliances yourself? Even Bachir Gemayel admitted he fought for US interests. You only type M14 words here.
Of course Mystic we don't know each other, but the acronym for my use of the word personal is because of this: I am talking of issues and you are homing on me. Sure, here I appear as The Phoenix, as I always do for the many years past. You're still name calling me, unfairly dressing me in borrowed robes. I am mighty glad you mentioned Bachir Gemayel whom I regard as the most patriotic man I have ever known. FYI, Bachir never said that he was serving the interests of the US, he was first and foremost and above all, a real Lebanese. But at times interests cross paths, so if Bachir's following into democracy for Lebanon met with the US's, then so be it. I am like my leader, Lebanese, polite, firm yes for sure but focusing on the issues, not the people who post. Have you realized that ya Mystic?
يقول السيد ابراهيم الأمين (قيادي في الحزب) في جريدة "النهار" بتاريخ 5/3/2013: "نحن لا نقول اننا جزء من ايران، نحن ايران في لبنان، ولبنان في ايران"
Knowing how much Rahi thinks that Aoun is a stick in the wheel, Hezbollah's message is a poke in the eye and indication that the thing is not yet ready for resolution.
isn't history ironic... aoun supported by those he called terrorists and cried in front of the US senate that they needed to be disarmed...
a nice lesson of machiavelism...
Hezbollah can pick whoever it wishes for the presidency, but that wouldn't change the fact that HA is not after national unity nor after the wellbeing of the nation, Hezbollah simply wants a ready-made-rubber-stamping Barbie doll bearing the name of Michel Aoun. Hezbollah simply wants a stooge, a puppet, a lackey, one that will, excel over that other notorious lackey Emile Lahoud, Lebanon's gold medalist swindling swimmer. Hezbollah is in dire shape these days and it now pins its hope over a puppet president 3rd world type that will cement its dirty agenda legally. Well that won't happen anytime, not now, not ever. Even with its missiles and guns, Hezbollah can't move an inch over this issue, their man is way too insane for the presidency. They can move a few kilometers of course, if they drive him to Deir El Salib or better still, in Zahedan University of medical sciences in Iran. Your perfect insanity specimen.
To Hezballah guys : support whoever you want as a presidential candidate, it is your right... but be men (for once) and go to the parliament, and VOTE !
Voting is the strongest weapon a man can have ! all your threats and BS are useless against the people !
go to the parliament, and vote for aoun
..et que le meilleur gagne !!!
The Caporal will never become president. Ebola knows this perfectly well and are using it....
I dislike all politicians, but have respect for Geagea the most... At least he did not attempt to flee like the others did, and he stayed the course and maintained his beliefs...
Aoun on the other hand changes colors faster than I change shoes...
The last line says it all, ties with HA and Al-Rahi will never be broken even if we have different points of view.
It would be interesting to know what these different points of view are?
Are the differences pertaining to HA's presidential nomination?
Are they any different to the differences they have with the majority of the Lebanese population?
“Aoun is a competent person who is capable of playing a positive role if he was elected as a president and he can assume responsibilities amid the difficult situation” the country is passing through, al-Sayyed told reporters at Bkirki.
I know no one will read this but Aoun is a competent person?????? Lmaoooooooooooo
Shame on us for letting a terrorist organization dictate whois our president. Filthy Syrio-Iranian malitia can't decide who the president is, we the Christian have to choose.
A little extreme, Tony. It's not Christians having the right. It's about the Parliament having a quorum to vote. Whoever wants to run appeals for votes and whoever gets the most becomes president. Don't get me wrong it's a stupid law, but if that's what it says then they should follow the Constitution. After we elect a new president then there should be an amendment (not Aoun's retarded proposal either). A real direct election, where each political party has primaries to nominate their candidate then we have the presidential election where everyone gets to vote (above 18 or 21) and whoever wins becomes president. That's democracy.
