Read this story in English W460

“Aoun is a competent person who is capable of playing a positive role if he was elected as a president and he can assume responsibilities amid the difficult situation” the country is passing through, al-Sayyed stressed.

Looooooooooool competent... such a disgrace...

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi reportedly asked Hizbullah to convince its ally Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun to head to the parliament to elect a new head of state or withdraw from the presidential race and choose a compromise candidate that would be acceptable to all sides.

-- Finally the Patriarch went against Aoun publicly. That's when you know Aoun is a traitor to Christians...lol

Ebola follower. You are finally telling who you really are.

The delegation met with al-Rahi to extend its greetings to him on the occasion of Christmas.

-- So they meet the Patriarch to tell him they still support Aoun?? How disrespectful...

Just a question: how many votes has Hezbollah cast for Aoun? Thought so...

Thumb nickjames 00:05 ,2015

Exactly my point: neither have gone to Parliament **to vote for Aoun** because Hezbollah does not want Aoun lol

Dear Batrak,
Please tell the Christians the truth. Someone like you can help to stop the destruction.

Funny... Now a Christian patriarch needs the help of a Muslim party, to convince or pass a message to a Christian leader.... This shows how this leader is close to the church, or to the christian hierarchy!

Geagea always seeks advise from his Saudi/US masters, we never see him go to the Christian leaders.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 16:04 ,2015

How many messages were passed to Geagea through Saudi/US from the Patriarch?

Thumb Mystic 17:27 ,2015

You tell me, Geagea is the one keeping quiet.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 20:03 ,2015

You made the statement as if it is a fact. I simply asked you a follow up question to you "factual comment". It is not my job to answer my own question. It is your job to support your comment with something that resembles some sort of fact. Your words are empty and full of wishful thinking. Childish at best.

What worries me is that nobody is respecting the elections. We had elections and General Aoun clearly won the majority of the Christian MP's. So why can't the majority of the Christian chose their President ?
Why the majority of Sunni can chose Hariri at the PMship...the majority of the Shiaa can chose Hezbollah and Amal... but why can't the Christian chose their leader ?
The Christian offered elections to be held... when we are in an impasse, let's ask the people - why was this rejected ?

If we want a country, we need to respect each community - the Christian clearly chose Michel Aoun in the last elections...and until there are new elections, this is still the case today.
Build a country, not a farm that will lead to Lebanon's partition - our patience has limits

No matter what we do, there will always be this grumpy old man Aoun to cause an obstruction. Well, Hezbollah can continue to use him as an obstacle of all sorts, this old man will soon expire himself out, like he always does. It's just a matter of time when the fake reprinted label on his forehead reach its by date. Hezbollah too is losing all forms of good will from the Lebanese people, at a time when every possible support would be deemed needed by this militia.

Patriarch reserves the right to himself to change his mind, doesn't he?? Your generale exercised the privilege on many occasions and he is not the Patriarch. aounrecognizes that conditions change that requires a change of position. Only Aoun has this privilege, or shouldn't others like the Patriarch himself have this privilege?
It is only the blockhead who takes a position and then in the face of changing conditions, doesn't alter his position to meet the changed circumstances. Right FT??

Aoun even allied with Hobeiqa. He escorted HK out of Karantina, then used him to smuggle artillery through Syrian-controlled areas while also photographing Ouwwet positions.

The Shia majority of Lebanon should be allowed to elect the government of their choice. That is God's will, and God is not stupid. Majority rule with civil rights for all: that is the symbol of unity of the Lebanese state.
