Tuesdays are so funny!! Kenaan and Riachi carrying on like they are agents for parties (Aoun and Geagea) who think themselves principals to the resolution of the impasse in the Lebanese Presidential succession. Ha! If either person makes a decision contrary to their financial backers they risk the collapse of their respective parties. The impasse is out of the Christian hand because the Christian political leadership has put itself, financially into the hand of regional Muslim countries.
This impasse will not resolve until Saudi Arabia and Iran find a common reason to end it, and then on their terms.

Right now, Iran (Aoun/Hezbollah) is demanding a President who will commit the Lebanese Army to a mutual defense agreement with the Syrian Regime of Bashar al Assad. Something that the Lebanese Sunni and most of the Lebanese Christians will not buy into. Saudi Arabia wants a President that will rein in Hezbollah from participating in the Syria War as Iran's proxy force on the ground., also not likely. Therefore, the impasse. If Aoun and Geagea act independently to end the impasse without taking these two interests into consideration, one or the other or both will be cut off from their patronage money and this, neither is willing to do.

Mr. Kanaan, you know very well that the LF has been a million times more flexible than your FPM to find solutions, now, you remove that silly dream of your old man Aoun from the slate and surely Geagea will not insist either on being president. Sit with him, be reasonable with him, tell him that a compromise candidate will solve the problem and you will see how quickly solutions will come. Then let's be frank and honest with each other, it is now the sacred duty of both FPM and LF to repair the damage done to the Christians of Lebanon, repair it and let's move on.
