عون بعد لقائه وفداً من المطارنة: يوجد استئصال ممنهج للمسيحيين من الشرق

اعتبر رئيس "التيار الوطني الحر" النائب ميشال عون، ان مأساة تهجير المسيحيين تتكرر غير انهم يعيشون هذه المرة "مأساة صامتة"، معتبراً انه " يوجد استئصال ممنهج لهم من الشرق".
وجاء كلام عون قبل ظهر الثلاثاء، بعد لقائه وفداً من المطارنة في دارته في الرابية، للبحث في اوضاع المنطقة عموماً وفي اوضاع مسيحيي الشرق خصوصاً.
وضم الوفد، المطارنة: عصام درويش وجورج صليبا وبولس سفر ورئيس الطائفة القبطية رويس الأورشليمي.
وبعد اللقاء، صرّح عون انه يوجد "استئصال ممنهج للمسيحيين من الشرق" مؤكداً ان "الشعب المسيحي لا يجب التعامل معه بهذه الطريقة".
كذلك، اعتبر ان المسيحيين يعيشون المأساة عينها، التي تشابه مجازر العام 1915، واصفاً اياها بـ"المأساة الصامتة من التهجير والتجويع والخوف والقتل".
وتابع: "نناشد الضمير العالمي اعتماد الحل الصحيح لهذه الازمة التي تهدد المسيحيين في وجودهم".
الى ذلك، جدد عون تأكيده على استكمال "مساعينا لتأمين مساعدات للعائلات المهجرة وتسهيل المعاملات للنازحين " معتبراً ان وجودهم في لبنان "سهل عودتهم الى بلادهم".
يُشار الى ان المسيحيين يتعرّضون في الآونة الاخيرة وخصوصاً في سوريا والعراق للاضطهاد والقتل والتهجير على ايدي عناصر تنظيم الدولة الاسلامية، ما دفعهم الى اللجوء الى لبنان.
وطلب وزير الداخلية نهاد المشنوق من الاجهزة الامنية المعنية ان يتم تسهيل مرور الآشوريين النازحين من سوريا الى لبنان الهاربين من مجازر تنظيم الدولة الاسلامية.
يُشار الى ان الآشوريين في سوريا كانوا قد نزحوا من العراق الى اقصى شمال شرق سوريا، قبل عقود عدة اثر تعرضهم لمجازر في العراق، عام 1933.
ويعيش حوالى 30 الف اشوري في سوريا غالبيتهم في محافظة الحسكة في اقصى الشمال الشرقي حيث يبلغ عدد السكان 1.4 مليون نسمة. وينحصر الوجود الاشوري في سوريا ضمن 35 قرية تقع بين الحسكة وراس العيني حول تل تمر.
