لا يزال الجيش ينتظر ما سيؤول اليه مسار الهبة السعودية لتسلم الاسلحة الفرنسيةالتي أعلنت عنها المملكة في العام 2013.
وأكد مصدر عسكري رفيع لصحيفة "الجمهورية" أنّ "الجيش ينتظر ما سيؤول إليه مسار هذه الهبة"، لافتا الى أنه "لن يعلّق أو يعلن اي شيء قبل تسلُّم الأسلحة، خصوصاً أنه قدّم لائحة بالاسلحة التي يحتاجها الى السلطات الفرنسيّة منذ مدّة".
من جهة ثانية، أكّد المصدر عينه أنّ "واشنطن مستمرّة في دعمها وتسليحها للجيش، وانّ الأسلحة الأميركية ما زالت تصل الى مستودعاته وفقاً لحاجاته، ولم تنقطع يوماً، إضافة الى عمل البريطانيين على تجهيز أفواج الحدود البريّة، والمساعدات التي تصل من دول عدّة".
وسبق للسعودية أن أعلنت في كانون الاول 2013 عن هبة بقيمة ثلاثة مليارات دولار مخصصة لشراء اسلحة من فرنسا لصالح الجيش ، لا تزال تجري المفاوضات ليتسلمها لبنان نهائياً.
وفي آب الفائت 2014 اعلن رئيس تيار "المستقبل" سعد الحريري عن تقديم السعودية هبة بقيمة مليار دولار إلى الجيش والقوى الأمنية لغرض "مواجهة الإرهاب".

Lebanon is a land of Resistance, and Iran will support our army in everyway they can just like the Resistance, if the government accepts their help instead of Saudi and America that keeps withholding grants that they promise over and over again.
Lebanon should not be a slave of the West, it is an Eastern country just like christianity is an eastern religion, why do you think the West never cares about Christians in the Middle East?
The Resistance cares more about christians than Geagea, Gemayel and America does.

I get it that Iran is financing a militia and sector in Lebanon but the Saudis are financing the state and not a militia. The army commanders made a list of what they need, that list is western made equipment and the Syrian training and arms deals that the Assad regime forced on the government many years back proved itself null as that Syrian army needs help to begin with to fight terrorism.
