if the there were'nt all those arms in Lebanon I would support a broadcast fist-fight between M14 and M8 supporters . I think this would be a nice way to reduce all the agression.
Whenever they are in trouble, they bring up the Israel card. After calling it for so long, people are becoming deaf to those comments. After all, it was them who started the war with Israel in 2006, staged a sitin downtown in 2007, and in 2008, raised their arms against fellow Lebanese.
I call those actions strife--most people do too.
They used automatic weapons just like 14 march did. they didnt use rockets, they used what all lebanese have. stop saying they used there weapons internally .. its like a compulsive liar,he starts believing his own lies. everyone is to blame. stop the hate.
You like using revisionist history--more power to you and your illusions. So if they can't be trusted with "small arms", how do you trust them with missiles and other armaments which they have been using to intimidate other parties internally? They committed acts of aggression against other lebanese as a unit with their weapons.
And, yes, they used their weapons internally. If you wan't to deny it, it's your choice and you would be guilty of lying (or rationalizing).
I don't think you really believe what you saying. M14 has no full time militia in the size of Hezbollah’s. M14 may have some security personnel for minimal protection but they can't really engage in street fight. Hezbollah on the other hand has training camps and is funded by special interest country like Iran.
Unfortunately he is right. March 14 and especially al mustakbal are currently creating isolated incidents all over the country. Not to create civil strife. But to discredit the gouvernement, so that they can win elections next year.
March 8 did not do better. When they were in opposition they stayed many months in downtown paralysing the whole country...
Each party is doing his "tminyok" in his own style, But I am sure they dont like it. After this show of force, I hope both will sit down to work together in a government.
Your house is in glass so you cannot throw rocks at others Qaouk, when you carry arms and weapons then expect at minimum from others to do the same and help the Leb Army secure the borders in the north and bekaa. For the past year all we have on those borders nothing but victims of RPGs in towns, Cameraman, fishermen and border crossing normal citizens getting killed and shot at by the same dummies who shot the Turkish F-4 by mistake and same dummies who tried to enter Zahle, Knat, and Tripoli after they destroyed them to the ground. It is normal to fight the Syria shabiha just like you fight the Israeli because they are exactly with the same mindset:massacres to gain power.
100%!!!
people cant seem to understand that syria did so much killing and raping and abducting in Lebanon. We all hate Israel eventhough i never saw an Israeli tank, israeli 7ajez, or even israeli soldier in my life. but i will never accept what they did and still do to the south and to my shia brothers. That being said, i dont understand how we are forced to love syria as a sister. People who win the war write history thats why.
You need to be friends with some bordered country's .or people will starve. we need to be friends with syria. its one of our gateways.
There was a day when I strongly believed that Hezbollah and nasrullah as its head were beyond the libanese silly and nasty politics but that day is way gone. Now they are professional players of that game and today I class them in the same category as all the other Lebanese politicians. They say things that suits them when it suits them and at the waythat suits them. There is no wrong or right...everything is relative in the dirty Lebanese politics.
when whichever party line up with hizb they are good when they do not line up they are bad
when they line up with hizb(hilf rouba3i) no problem with arms of moukawameh
when they do not line up with hizb they use the arms as push in elections and after the arms in politics are sacred
ex in the last election the arms of hizb is taboo and is the problem ou la lilsilah
when march 14 won the election
mr sad el harriri went to bkirki and from bkirki he said silah el moukaouameh moukadass???????!!!!!
politics sucks especially wih muppets with strings pulled from the outside
you think if hezballah gave up there arms tomorrow, that everything would be fine? i cant believe how bad some lebanes people are brainwashed. STOP THE HATE !
Open up...and think of it this way. If you have a gun on your belt, you are more likely to stand your ground in a fight and not compromise. I see it as removing these weapons will make it little easier to reach a deal. With no weapons democracy will previal.
What exactly is that Iranian agenda?
Is it the establishment of an Islamic state? Doubt it. Hardliner former SG of Hezbolllah Subhi Tufayli left the group because he felt it was becoming too pragmatic under the leadership of Hassan Nasrallah and Abbas Mussawi and was abandoning that exact principle.
Is it the liberation of Palestine? Yea, much like the aspirations of most other Islamist groups, not just Iranian mullahs.
So tell me, what is the Iranian agenda? You must make a stark difference between political allies, who SHARE a common view and common interests, and a mere view that one is imposing an ideology upon another political group.
You may disagree with Hezbollah's interests or actions and you have the right to, but to claim that they or anyone else act in the interests of others and don't have genuine intentions is out of touch with reality.
Look to bahrein,Yemen ,Irak,Syria,Saudi Arabia, emirates,Lebanon, even Egypt and you will understand the iranian Agenda, the arabs realise that this is more dangerous than israel, but they don't admit it openly, because it is attacking the very heart of their beleives, and it is annexing them or plan to annex them by making the propaganda of fighting Israel,
Sure, insult my opinion, very mature.
On another note, any sources? Hezbollah does not engage in war rhetoric with Israel because of Iran, but rather because it has deep animosities against Israel and it SHARES those animosities with Iran.
Also, the government was toppled through democratic means (your armed intimidation claims, I'd like to know who your sources are).
And I didn't say Iran does not have any political interests in Lebanon. All countries have interests. I did not deny that. What I disagree with you is your portrayal of Hezbollah as a mere proxy militia of an Iranian regime, when the reality is much more complicated than that. I suggest you read the book "Warriors of God" by Nicholas Blanford to gain a better understanding of that.
let's be striaght. Lebanon has regained all its terretories from israel and hence it;s time for it to care about fixing people's lives. It's stupid to continue in the name of fighting Israel to destroy the entire fabric of the Lebanese society. When would it be convenient for Huzbullah to realise that he's not Lebanon. His religious sect only counts 30% of the Lebanese population and has no right to dictate policy on us all. He could discuss the best ways of improving Lebanon's econmical situation. And surely one way of doing that is by droping his arms and letting the army take care of security.
1) Jumblatt was threatened during Syrian hegemony, and yet continued his anti-Syrian rhetoric. And look at him now, being pretty vocal against the current government. Shouldn't he be backed into a corner because of "armed threats" inside the country as you claim? Instead he's still vocal and criticizing some of the government's actions.
2) Hezbollah's kidnapping was a routine kidnapping action that Hezbollah since its creation and especially since 2000 had been using as a leverage tactic to demand the release of Lebanese prisoners detained in Israel.
3) Iran financially supports Hezbollah, 100% true. But so does Qatar and Saudi Arabia fund the FSA in Syria. The members in the FSA are acting in their own interests, and they happen to share those interests with some foreign countries, and thus become allies. Is the FSA acting on direct orders of SA or other Gulf countries? Not necessarily.
Again, before you make such bold claims, provide your sources. Speculation just does not cut it.
Hey guys, I am a lebanese from the south and I want to resist Israel, and be part of the "people army resistance" equation. How do I apply to be a member of the resistance?
Would they take me if I am christian? Or is there religious discrimination?
anonymetexasusa.. im not sticking up for hezb. but i dont know where you get your info from mate .???? I THINK THERE WAS MORE TO IT THEN"Hizubllah didn't like it so it attacked the Sunni"
SLASH.. SO YOU DONT WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH SYRIA ,YOU JUST WANT BASHAR TO GO? well listen mate if he "bashar" leaves.. whats next do you think? you have 25000 syrian refuges in lebanon now, what do you think will happen in the future? or do you think usa and israel are going to give you security? and you think you know how many people israel killed in lebanon? yah haram ..march 14 think everything is BLACK OR WHITE, someone tell them plz that there is a large grey area.
