This is becoming very alarming..And the month of tight security promised by the interior minister should start now and sustaind forever.
The outlaws are ecoming more daring with the liniency practised in enforcing the law by the Gov..

this stalemate is empoverishing all, and with the presence of weapons with everyone, I think we should expect more of this.
the total absence of government is highly the cause for such matters to proliferate.
there is no real ecconomic plan, and at the same time, the state within the state is creating a lot of havoc.

Didn't our fearless minister of interior promise us "an oasis of security" as of today?
you mean he might be ANOTHER incompetent politician?

In most civilized countries, Europe, US etc... all banks have bullet proof glass counters and speaker phones to address the tellers as well as digital codes to access admin offices. In a country where there is practically a weapon in every house, bank counters are open, and security is limited to nil. Time to address this issue seriously.

In all countries it is the bank's responsibility to address the issue, which is why they have the bullet proof glasses and security measures. These banks are private banks and the only way to make them push for more security is by making them repay to their customers their losses without having their full proof expensive lawyers shoot wholes in our laws and get away with it, this way they will know that there are consequences to not securing their branches. So the first step is amending laws to consider banks fully responsible of their employees and their safes, but there is no way this issue can be tackled directly and politically to force them to invest in more security.

You lebanese commentators are really becoming very ignorant and just talk to talk... Bank robberies happen everywhere, and Rami, not most "civilized" coutries have bullet proof glass counters. Instead of blaming the government or Lebanon, maybe you should address the shameful future the world is going to, of which your nasty , unproductive comments are generating from.

When there is no security nor respect for the law or the state then crime will thrive...basic

Woody, thank you for YOUR productive comments. If a useless government cannot provide a safe heaven, than they (banks) should take matters in their own hands and ensure their own security. Unfortunately, this is where the country is going when no one cares.
Are you going to blame the government if your car is stolen, or your credit card is lost. Ignorant.

The degree of lawlessness in Lebanon has become appauling. Bank robberies now in broad day light; gun fire that erupts from small disputes and escalate on several occasions. Blatant and repeated violations of the border by the neighboring Assad Regime that goes unanswered by authorities in Lebanon.
There is a new culture that has grown up under the M8 FPM/Hezbollah Regime whereby there is no law. Hezbollah is an outlaw party that exists outside of the constitution, yet it controls the government.
The people are left with the proposition that if the head of the government does not follow the law, why should they? Thus this lawless Wild West culture in Lebanon. It is the worst government ever in Lebanon even when there was no government it was better than this.
