In the absence of a reasonable explanation, I can only assume that the struggle is actually sunni-shia'a with israel being a scapegoat.
Iran may be acquire a Nuke, but I feel it is to threaten others. After all, xtians, hindu, jews and sunnis have the Bomb. Why not the shia'a?

As long as they focus their efforts on the south it's going to be fine. The persians can move back to Iran where they belong and the original inhabitants of the South can move back to their lands and re-build it for good.

Partitioning the country. Lebanon is already too small to be considered a country. Let each group get its own piece and each will patrol that piece and sent mark it to keep out any aggressors. As the borders with Israel being the quietest since 2006 than they were ever before proves that diplomacy works, the "Resistance" rhetoric should end and hezbollah should be declared as an illegitimate armed militia of whose actions lebanon should not be held responsible.
As long as the equation of the Resistance and the army or whatever keeps being supported by our weak spined politicians, any future conflict with Israel will be devastating and the world this time will only watch passively.

In summer 2006 Israel didn't fight against Lebanon, but against Hezbollah.
Israel hasn't any claim or pretention against the state of Lebanon.

im from canada and my wife is from lebanon and i hope for the sake of the people of lebanon there is no war.we visited your country(my wifes homeland)in 2010 and the people there are so friendly and you have a beautiful country and it would be a shame to see it destroyed.beruit is becoming a very beautiful city again and i hope your country becomes the jewel of the middle east again like it should.we hope to visit there again soon and wish the people of lebanon all the best.

c'mon guys ..none of this will happen. Israel needs hizballah as much hizballah need them. The lessons learned in 2006 were very painful to the lebanse in general and the shiia in particular. They can't afford it anymore. Look at it from a strategic lens. Hizballah was defeated and kicked out of the south. The UN is in and that is fine with the israel. as 'thatisit' said, no war with Israel will happen in the near future. The Israelis are keeping a close eye on the Arab spring. Their future relationships with the free arab nations is in the balance here. Hezbollah might try to ignite something with them, but they won't retaliate on a large scale. NO WAY. First how come no one has anything to say against the fact that a country can attack another country just like that, or with a predictable scheme like in 2006, it is against all international laws to carry such an attack or invasion.
