Read this story in English W460

he heard it, and it is confirmed: he needs to step down fast.

Bashar will be gone, the masna3 crossing will fall to the FSA eventualy. Lebanon will go through a political earthquake. Either way it cant be good. Islamic sectarian tensions are sky high, the moderate sunis like hariri and wesam 7asan have been murdered by iranian agents. Syrian are looking to revenge from those who went on 'jihadi duties' to 7ums. There is no way that this will end well, im just being realistic.

Major powers want to keep the palestinians in Lebanon. With HA in power will not work. Only solution is to have another civil war and destroy the country.

Missing freemind 10:56 ,2012

what's this with the "super" duper powers blowing the wind in different directions every other minute. khallas ba2a.
blow it in the face of those immature M14ers.

now tell us in which way M14 is patriotic?
- for backing the FSA? who is imposing chariah law in Aleppo mathelan
- for backing assir who is asking the Palestinians (!) to join him in fighting the chiah mathelan. i mean, people: u lived the civil war once, wasnt that enough? I cant imagine how geagea acquiesces this? the head of the lebanese forces (!) - i mean, does he have alzheimer or is the clinically dead saudi king paying him so much that he loses his memory?

do u hate bashar so much that it makes u want to take arms against ur own people?

is HA faultless? far from it of course. but they are part of the lebanese society, u got to live with it. that doesnt mean that you got to accept their every whim. a REAL dialogue needs to take place.

M14 are not backing Assir, but indeed they are backing the FSA as much as the US, Turkey and the West. FSA is not islamist but part of it is indeed Islamist and represent a real danger on Syria and in Lebanon.
Yes we hate so much Bachar as he is systematically undermining the Lebanese sovereignty and responsible of killing our leaders. The issue is that HA is the extension of Bashar in Lebanon and inevitably M14 feels that HA with its arms, strength and baking by tyrannic regimes is a threat on Lebanon and the Lebanese.
There is therefore a real danger of clash between HA and the M14 when Bashar bites the dust.

Missing freemind 12:24 ,2012

who said that because the US and Turkey back someone, that that is the right thing???
In any case, the prospect of leb's future is not great if we all go on thinking along these lines.
i see a lot of super powers undermining our sovereignty, not just syria. maybe they do it in a more subtle way, nonetheless they do.

everyone is right in their accusations, and no one is faultless.
at the end, there will be no victor and no vanquished, just more bloodshed for nothing.
so think twice about it. not just you, all of us.
taking up arms does not solve anything, esp in the internal arena. it just amplifies the disaster.
once and for all, lets learn to change our mentalities and change our leaders.

How do you suggest we have a dialog when one party is armed to the teeth, threatens to cut off hands, and refuses to even discuss those same arms?
No, dialog is looking less and less likely as each day passes, and HA are to blame for this. When one party has a gun to your head - your first instinct is to find yourself a gun!

i have not forgotten what syria has done to lebanon, but backing FSA is not the solution to erasing what it has done to lebanon. Thats 1. even with proof at hand, u still go on backing FSA, isnt that ironic?

2. my concern is today. today, a lebanese dude is asking the palestinians to take arms against other lebanese dudes. now dont get me more angry than i am.

3. the difference btw shia and sunni fundamentalism: chiah fundamentalists do not threaten me as a christian. sunni fundamentalists do. i advise you to check out some literature abt it.

4. no of course i dont remember only what geagea did in the civil war, please re-read my comment. it was in direct relation to the palestinian issue. which was the core of the core of the core of leb forces fight.

this has nothing to do with being clever; it is a point of view based on observation.

Missing peace 17:35 ,2012

freemind what about hezbis training sunni extremists from tripoli?

chia fundamentalism doesn t threat christians? it is the same vision as the sunnis fundamentalism! two extremes! check what iranian do to christians in iran restricting their liberties...

both fanatics hezbis or salafis are the same thing.... just open your eyes and read about it....

Every party in this story is in the wrong, partly because their patrons push them to do things that maybe they would not have done in the first place.

Think Lebanese, people. And stop being blinded by hatred.

awww and Hasoon will be upset that the international community did not take his advice that they all have to meet at the table with no pre-conditions...
one battle after the other is being lost... amazing how the tables have turned from 2008 and everything was working in favor of M8...
now taste your own medicine.

What is the alternative to this government? A Hariri led one? Forget it...his days are over. A Technocratic one? Forget it there are no technocrats in Lebanon...everybody has a political side. Government of unity? History speaks for itself. If M14 don't like this government then they can resign from Parliament and we can have early elections but they won't. Do you know why? Can you report on why? These people have proved they are not democratic. They don;t believe let alone respect democracy.

The West want a war in Lebanon and no unity amongst it's people. The Lebanese are smarter and will not allow a war. The MoU between the C&R Block & Hizballah has saved Lebanon from a civil war. It's the uncivilised CIA agents within the M14 group who are traitors & not working for the better of the nation.

The major powers how now shown their hand. Before all they supposedly wanted was for Lebanon to iron out the differences.

It is now clear this was all about getting at Hezbollah. The problem for Lebanon is that it can't defy the US, the EU and the GCC all at once.

Hezbollah must understand and demur to consolidate its base and let its' supporters off the hook. Only by cooperation will Lebanon move forward.

Syria is all but lost and Iran is crippled by economic sanctions, cyber attacks and political paralysis. Hezbollah needs to "smell the coffee".

@the1phoenix - good analysis.
but a new cabinet can only be formed after national dialogue.
mikati will not resign and leave a void.
btw, national dialogue postponed till... Jan7!

Missing freemind 14:23 ,2012

i wld have wished that M14 would hear u and not boycott everything and get to the dialogue table and help things to move instead of this deadlock.

Missing peace 17:42 ,2012

why would you want M14 to stop boycotting ? they are just doing the same thing M8 did to bring down hariri and sinioura... M14 are not the bad ones as they just do like M8 did!

conclusion : both are stupid and none of them think about the country but just to their personal interests...if you want to be fair that s the way it is.

no politician in lebanon think about the first concerned: the well being of the population....

Thumb thepatriot 16:51 ,2012

@the1
I don't agree!
Mikati has been braught to premiership in less then honorable conditions.
He made an act of treason towars hariri without whom he wouldn't have been elected to the National Assembly.
He is well known to be a personal friend of Bashar.
He is a moderate...who won't drink a drop of alcohool :)
He is considered a syrian nationalist who dreams of Bilad el Sham ...greater Syria!
He can go home now!
