عودة في الذكرى السابعة لاغتيال جبران تويني: ماذا تغيّر في هذا الوطن الذي أحبّه جبران منذ سبع سنوات الى اليوم؟

رأى ميتروبوليت بيروت وتوابعها لطائفة الروم الأرثوذكس المطران الياس عودة ان " جبران كان عالما انه مهدد بالموت، ولكنه لم يتورّع لحظة الى حيث يجب أن يذهب لخلاص وطنه وفدائه"، متسائلاً " ماذا تغيّر في هذا الوطن الذي أحبّه جبران؟ وهل تغيّرت أرضنا أم انها لا تزال الى دماء تهرق لتزهر العدالة والمحبة والسلام والإحترام المتبادل؟"
وأشار عودة في الذكرى السابعة لاغتيال النائب والصحافي جبران تويني في كنيسة القديس ديمتريوس في الأشرفية الى أن "جبران كان عالما انه مهدد بالموت، ولكنه لم يتورّع لحظة الى حيث يجب أن يذهب لخلاص وطنه وفدائه. أراد هذا الشاب ان يكون نموذجا لشباب بلاده ومثالا في المحبة والصدق والعطاء حتّى الشهادة. أراد ان يعلّم شعب لبنان الشهادة لوطنهم، فكان ان علمهم باستشهاده وكان فدية من أجل شعبه".
وتساءل "سبع سنوات مرّت ويبقى السؤال: ماذا تغيّر في هذا الوطن الذي أحبّه جبران؟ وهل تغيّرت أرضنا أم انها لا تزال الى دماء تهرق لتزهر العدالة والمحبة والسلام والإحترام المتبادل؟".
وأردف "يحزّ في نفسي اننا لم نتقدّم خطوة الى الأمام كي لا نقول اننا تراجعنا، فأمننا لا يزال في خطر، والدليل على ذلك الإنفجار الأخير الّذي أودى بحياة الشهيد وسام الحسن ورفيقه وسيدة فاضلة. الحوار ما زال شبه منقطع بين أبناء البلد الواحد والإحتقان الطائفي ما زال يهدد حياتنا وشبح الإغتيالات ما زال يرعبنا، أما وضعنا الإقتصادي فمن سيء إلى أسوأ".
وشدد عودة على "اننا نراهم يتنافسون على الكراسي ومجبورين على معالجة الأمور الطارئة من قطع الطرقات وعمليات القتل والخطف والتمرد في السجون والأدوية المزورة وغيرها مما يزيد صعوبة حياتنا، فهل هذا هو لبنان الذي دفع جبران دمه من أجله؟".
واضاف سائلا"ألم نعِ بعد اننا خسرنا الكثير واننا وصلنا الى النقطة التي قد نخسر فيها أنفسنا والوطن حيث لا يعود ينفع الندم؟".
بدورها، لفتت ميشال تويني ابنة الشهيد جبران الى أنه " سبع سنوات مرّت وما زال طليقا من تآمر علينا وقتلك ومدة الزمن لن تعفي القتلة من عدالة السماء ونفرح عندما نشعر باننا ما زلنا أبناء الثورة والجنون وكسر القيود".
وكان جبران قد اغتيل في 12-12-2005 بعبوة ناسفة في المكلس أثناء مرور موكبه.

Imagining if he was still alive...and all the others that were killed around the same time. All of them were courageous and doing the right thing. These killings accomplished the objectives of the traitors and killers, because it has sent Lebanon into a downward spiral and made it weaker.
Enough...It's time to claim Lebanon back to its glory days.

Gebran cannot be replaced...he'll never be!
He was an inspiration for the March 14th and was assasinated by the ennemies of freedom, freedom of speech, and Independance.
His spirit remains present with those who believe in the same principles, and want a Lebanon free... free from foreign powers, free from illegal weapons, free from all extremisms, free...and proud!

I agree with you ya captain.Too many people are in the airport going in and out but not all of them were monitored and targeted.Certain were marked for death as it happened to Gebran Tueni and Hassan.

hmm but according to the quran, one has to be a true muslim man to get forgiveness, not a true lebanese. So whats your take on this? Saying Allah 3erkhamo for a christian is not allowed in the quran since you are asking god to forgive a kufar.

M8 and M14 are a reflection of the past. The Cedar Revolution is a reflection of the freedom flame that only Lebanon can light. Gebran's Oath is a reflection of what Lebanon can be. Everyone speaking to the past, from Hizbollah's inquisition to Salafis' Jahilyia to Aoun's Faustian corruption selling Lebanon's soul to the highest bidder. Gebran Tueni was speaking to the future when Lebanese understand our diversity is our best asset and our ingrained freedom and democracy is the light the Arab/Iranian Spring needs to find its way as the Arab/Iranian pendulum shift from the tyranny of dictators to the tyranny of Islamists to finally rest on the freedom of the people with Lebanese playing as the catalyst of a new region built on principles similar to the European Union that let Europe find its soul after centuries of wars and hate.
