why would he advise him to withdraw?
let his filthy terroristas die in there with the regime.... so lebanon can be cleaner.... only the good shias would remain in our country.
lol the countdown has begun? but ya joumby i thought it had begun 3 years ago! when bashar's days were counted!
Motormouth: lol you're right, i'm 30 is also one ;)
Bingo....I would have guessed more like 20's but close enough. That explains the mentality and prime conditioned mind!
everybody please a round of applause for bigsami, today is his big day, he managed to spot out a mistyping!!!
it looks like the latest FSA advance is really significant militarily and the regime has suffered a major loss.
the President first and now Joumblat are agreeing to a de facto cabinet :)
let us see the reply of m8, not forgetting the fact the President was in Iran and had discussions with the new Iranian president.
let us hope change is really coming finally.
hahaha how did you assess the military "significance" of this airport? your crystal ball again?
according to this report by the institude for the study of war, mennagh airbase was not even being used.
http://www.understandingwar.org/sites/default/files/RequiredSorties-to-DegradeSyrianAirPower.pdf
(page 6)
it's not in the top 6 primary airbases, and it's not even in the 12 secondary airbases (available but not being used)
but hey keep chanting that this is a major strategic achievement, the rebels desperately need the morale boost :)
I never claimed to be a military expert, and my post clearly shows it for those who know how to read :) do you even understand what " it looks like" means?
but based on the comment attributed to Joumblat it has a meaning apparently.
geha i'm not sure i know what it means, can i use it in that context:
"it looks like you said bull and now you're trying to play on words to cover it up"
starky: you're talking about attacks on simple villages where they killed civilians, is that what you consider "intelligent", and a great strategic achievement? nothing new here, and there's no reason why syria's strategy will change, they'll do like they did in the rest of the country: arm the villagers and train them to defend themselves, while the army focuses on smashing the rebel strongholds.
Mowaten, the airport hasn't been used as an air-base for months, too.
Not a significant blow really. A significant blow to the 'FSA' perhaps, since their battles are being fought with jihadis and terrorists. A lot of them foreigners as well. The blow is the image they've portrayed over the last months or so. Killing children because of the words they speak, summary executions, beheading and throat slashing, kidnapping and murdering of priests and moderates.
Here's some proof:
http://www.worldtribune.com/2013/08/07/rebel-militias-seize-syrian-air-base-near-turkish-border/
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/06/us-syria-crisis-idUSBRE9750N520130806
'Rebels' actually largely terrorists here, from Chechnya and Al Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant. Suicide and prisoner executions and such.
Here's a more descriptive summary by Debka (a journal found in 2000, and although relatively an upstart, is composed of senior editors for international papers), the story in which is an extension of the story reported by reuthers and the world tribune ( the paper I personally buy ): http://www.debka.com/article/23172/Al-Qaeda%E2%80%99s-Chechen-Caucasian-fighters-win-N-Syrian-air-base-execute-captive-troops
unfortubately, he's wrong, mennagh's fall does not mean anything, just in aleppo there is still 2 other airports, barracks, ect...
Right on prime & geha! It's coming and those who voted you down will be looking for another group to be duped by! lol
Now he is advising Nusrallah to withdraw?? Why didn't he advise him 5 years ago before he flip flopped between M8 and M14 and M16 etc He was the one who started talking about Nusrallah spying on the airport and his communications in the sourh that pushed Harriri to take government decisions that later were retracted. Jumblat then swithched sides and supported Nusrallah and the rest is history...does anybody recall the recent history.... Walla ya ammi she bijanninn.
maybe a real syrian and not a west/iranian puppet, thats using terrorist proxies against lebanon, turkey, jordan and iraq but doing nothing for golan...
When you sit down to talk peace, you aim to solve all problems existing between the two sides, land, water, natural gas and oil.
Once all problems are solved and peace is signed (not like in 1988 when the Syrians tore up the Lebanon-Israel Peace Treaty) each side will see that there is nothing to fear from the other side, rather there are a lot of fields for economic and commercial co-operation.
Just think how the European could fly to Lebanon, go skiing in the mountains then cross into Israel to visit the holy sites in Nazareth and Jerusalem. Just think how the Lebanese Christian communities could take day trips to visit the holy sites, or the Moslem communities to visit theirs, or the Druze to visit.
Phillipo, you need two to tango! You cannot make peace with a side that has no want for peace. Yitzak Rabin wanted peace. He was killed by the people that control the Zoinist state. Extremist, racist fascists. Israel could not exist in peace. The foriegn funds would dry up and it would turn into Greece within a decade. The israelis are the greatest at propaganda, comtroling media and foriegn political lobbies. They are Truely a class above the rest. But when china become the superpower and they no longer need or want Israeli military trade, then Israel will go the way of Apartied south Africa.
So they keep stealing while we talk?... How about just leave us alone first. Stop military flights, before u ask for civilian ones.
How about u first stop encroaching on our rights, and then see what happens. To ask the victim to be responsible for the peace, is asking for surrender.
Plz stop thinking that a vague idea of some vacation package (lol), will keep ppl from seeing through you.
Phillipo
You are very worried about the devolepments in our country .
You have every right due to your posts it seems that you are living in one of the illegal settlements of the West Bank .
Peace is not an obstacle if your government agrees to the pre- 1967 borders ( no 1)
2) return ALL PALESTINIANS to their homeland , no matter what generation !
3) provide them ( as compensation ) the existing Apartments illegally built on the West Bank as part of a compensation package !
4) Return all Jews to the so called " Israel "
5) return Shebaa Farms to Lebanon & the Golan Heights to the Syrians ( preferably to the current refugees ) !
6) allow the Palestinians to collect their own taxes & govern their territories !
Now this will not only have peace between Israel & Palestinians but also to the whole region ! We shall accept to look at the peace process & maybe even sign it as Lebanese to accept you as a genuine neighbour as well as with other Arab states !
Signed Wolf ..
Jumblatt and others have been saying that the Syrian regime will fall any time now, for the last 2 years! I wonder what the Druze of Syria think of that?
Western security agencies, aka the cia, released a report that stated that almost 80% of Syrians population were pro government. With 10% against the Syrian government but also against the fsa and the rebellion, while only 10% of the whole population of Syria were supportive if the fsa and rebel (or terrorist) groups.
How is this the Oppression of the Syrian people when the overwhelming majority of all Syrians are supporting the Syrian government. The fsa is only a media PR group. They have no control of the real fighters who are the al nusra front and ISIS (Iraqi Syrian islamic whatever) aka al Qaida. What do they think of the druze? Maybe they will be merciful because of your stances and only shoot them in the head instead of decapitating and eating Druze hearts.
"Some say Tel Aviv has a night life! I doubt its better than Beyrouth, but we would love to show them how better it is!"
What could be easier than to offer the tourists a night in Beirut and a night in Tel Aviv.
By the way, just think how much money MEA could save if they could fly south over Israeli airspace when heading for Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and
further. RJ and all the other airlines flying to Amman from Europe have already learned.
From my European capital to tel aviv, 200€ return
From my European capital to Beirut, 500€ return if booked long time in advance.
Open the bloody borders so we can save some money for Allah's sake!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha awesome!! MEA will save money??? Lets do it!
Ben-zona, yes let's open the borders! Let all the Palestinians march back home!
By the way, I thought that Beyrouth was a town in Bavaria Germany where the Wagner Festival takes place. Beirut is the capital of Lebanon.
Philipo, no it's somewhere in Poland, go look for it n take as many of ur kind as u can...
"...because the countdown for the demise of the regime has begun.”
Quite the opposite actually lol. FSA-Al Qaeda were dealt a HUGE blow in Qusayr and now Homs, and the Syrian regime is now poised to overtake Aleppo. FSA-Al Qaeda is being TORN APART to pieces and Jumblatt knows it.
Arreet 7akeh Beik is catching up with Dr. Arreet 7akeh. I knew these two Arteena Satleh were bound to converge sooner or later. After all, all filth ends up in the sewer.
what exactly will they do that the syrian govt has not done, and are still attempting to do (smaha)..
Minibash, you are starting to make sense, buddy. The farther away you get from Drs. Arteena Satleh of Dr. Arreet 7akeh, the wiser you will get. It's like going through rehab. Just ask the Bash when you meet him in Israel this coming Sunday.
When Mx stop rejoicing for victories of rebels and Mz do the same for victories of Assad.
When Mx get upset when Syrian rebels hit Mz in Lebanon and Mz get upset when Syria's Assad hit Mx in Lebanon.
When both Mx and Mz reject arms outside the ISF and LAF, reject extremism from whichever side it came from, stop supporting corruption by supporting corrupt leaders.
Then and only then Lebanon will be the country it deserves to be.
Isn't it interesting that each comment I have placed on this listing has been met with thumbs down only, yet I have been trying to show the advantages of the possibility of peace between Lebanon and Israel.
I can only understand from that that everyone who disagree with what I wrote simply has no interest at the least, or even actively opposes peace between Lebanon and Israel.
I totally agree w/ you phillipo. You would think after years & years of blood/hatred one would think to try another option and God forbid that be an option that incorporates peace/truce. People just don't seem to understand that Israel will NOT go away so damn it, accept it! Now just maybe stop the killing and try to work something out. Israel does not bother Lebanon if it was not constantly antagonized & threatened by HA scums that are there for IRAN - period! Work something out w/ Israel and just maybe the Palestinians will get a home to go to and God rid us from this disease called HA!
I'm with u 100% on what you're saying. But when u search, ull see that Israel doesn't want peace. The Arabs have offered full peace in-exchange for return to 1967 borders. Two states. Israel and Palestinian.
They have yet to reply to the offer.
No Philipo, I'm sure the down thumb, none of which are mine btw, are probably because your comments are nothing more than veiled attempts to spread propaganda.
Since you've spoken so much of what Lebanon should do for peace, can we speak about what Israel can do to initiate peace? Any ideas?
You make it sound like Israel is throwing flowers at us, and we're rejecting peace, with our peace-loving neighbors who want nothing more than peace... Like we don't want prosperity, like we don't want tourists from EU. Could this be true? Does this make any sense to anyone? The illegal, racist, apartheid-state wants peace, and WE reject it?! ... U sure it might not be the other way around? I'm just wondering.
I agree with you that Israel could do more to try and show Lebanon that it is interested in peace with that country. They did that in 1988 when both sides sat down and drew up a peace treaty that just had to be signed by the heads of State/Government. Unfortunately as you may remember the Syrian occupiers of Lebanon forced the Lebanese Government to tear up this treaty.
I am sure that Israel has no territorial claims on Lebanon and still adheres to the 1921 Sykes-Picot Agreement. When was the last time that Israel attacked Lebanese civilians (and I'm not talking about those that take up arms in the service of Hizballah).
If the Israeli Government at its' regular meeting on Sunday turned round and offer to immediately start talks with the Government of Lebanon, (just like it has started talks with the Government of Palestinian Authority) what do you think the Lebanese response would be, if there was one?
can someone plz tell me why the "frak" Mowaten is defending Syrians that much ? I mean why he comments on every post and have to claim otherwise. he thinks we really care what he believes in ?
News from Syria now: Assad supporters and Alawites are leaving Bashar and trying to make a deal withe the opposition. Something is happening behind doors and Bashar should take his family and run... if he is smart that is... But
Who cares, whatever is gonna happen next is on it's way. Time for hizballah to come home. I agree with jumblatt.
What Assad regime? Most of em died in that bomb blast. its Russia and Iran, against the west and Saudi, being played out in Syria.
What happens a year from now, he holds elections? The entire world is not gonna just give up, and let Assad and the Ba'ath party rule. No matter what, Assad is gone.
He's loved by the majority of Druze ppl in Lebanon. He is expected to change sides often, by his own ppl, because politics in this region is never stable, and the Druze feel they must always stand with the winner in order to survive. Jumblatt is seen as a skilled politician by his ppl. Yea he's really ugly.
Hizbullah's involvement in Syria has been BAD for Lebanon.
THAT of course is no concern of theirs as they just care about what is best for Hizbullah.
