ISF, Army Come Under Fire over Illegal Construction in North

Residents of the northern town of Alma on Thursday opened fire on armed forces that were trying to demolish illegal construction, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said that while two bulldozers backed by the Internal Security Forces Panthers Unit and army troops were trying to remove the violations caused by 35 houses constructed illegally, several residents opened fire on them.

The army later carried out raids to find the shooters.

The residents of the town, which lies in Zgharta district, have in the past week been holding protests against the demolition.

Both the mayor and municipal chief have insisted that the issue is legal and not sectarian as claimed by some.

Lebanon witnessed over the years illegal construction in several areas mainly in the Beirut southern suburb of Ouzai. But powerful politicians shield violators.

Ladies and gentlemen,
We are in presence of Hezbollah copycats.
After the military imitations, we now have another kind of general nuisance.

Beat them up and jail them after bulldozering the illegal habitats.

FT.- lebanon part of syria?
ukraine was part of USSR, it doesnt make it russian does it?
slovenia was yougoslav 20 years ago, it is not now, right?
Lebanon was part of syria long time ago. But we have been 2 different countries for about a century, and we have evolved, and we have thw different systems. So this SSNP bullshit does not apply to Lebanon.
I thought you were a lebanon loving patriot. I never thought u had repressed SSNP tendencies.

Hezbollah's bullying of half the lebanese population is MAYBE the reason why there is such a fertile ground for other people wanting to be armed and act like thugs. Maybe HA created junk such as Arsal's mayor and co

And MAYBE if Hezb was not set on undermining the lebanese state, we would have had much stronger security agencies.

And MAYBE if Hezb did not do adventures in syria and israel , we would not have had al qaeda on our back

BTW. change your name. you dont need to insult your interlocutor!

So many obviously educated people here, with near-excellent English. What's funny is, they curse and call each other names based on political disagreements, even worse than in a juvenile correctional facility.

Grow up, Lebanese?

FT, I figured you out a long time ago, two recent aberrations by your esteemed self confirm what I always believed. Your first flop just a week ago. "The LF's arms are from Israel", and the second one today "Lebanon is part of Syria", Stop hiding behind the lunatic Aoun. Tahya Sorya
