Members of the Tawhid Party, which is headed by former MP Wiam Wahhab, were killed in Syria as they were fighting alongside the country's regime, it announced in a statement on Tuesday.

It said that the fighters were killed in a battle in the village of Arna in the Mount Hermon region on Monday.

Hassan Barakeh, Sami Abou Aaqel, Asaad Abou Morra, and Hassan Badreddine were killed in combat.

“The blood of the martyrs will not go to waste as they will continue to haunt the conspirators, takfiris, terrorists, and extremists,” added the statement.

Wahhab had on Monday held talks in Syria with its Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Badreddine Hassoun on the latest developments in the country.

This is the first time that the Tawhid Party announces the death of fighters in Syria.

Hizbullah has been involved in the fighting in Syria, but it does not officially announce the names of its dead.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimates that over 170 Hizbullah fighters have been killed in Syria.

God Bless the hero Wiam Wahhab and his honorable Tawhid (Unification) secular Druze only movement for adhering to the dissociation policy in Lebanon. This movement enjoys great popular support among the Lebanese and its members are hand picked by a professional panel of academics, think tanks, and musicians. Those martyrs (God Bless their lovely souls) proved what has already been know from the onset of the Syrian crisis: This is not a sectarian war by the Islamic Secular Resistance, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Alwai minority regime of Assad against the majority Sunni population. Now, we have Druze martyrs and mark my words, soon we will have Aouni martyrs to give this crisis a cocktail flavor. Bless the Martyrs and those who sent them.

what is the surprise? this guy and the tawhid party has always been pro syrian even at the height of the syrian occupation of lebanon! at least they admit it and don't change their allegiances every week.

every sunni fanatatic from around the world is fighting in syria. why not mention the deaths of the Chechens, Saudis, tunisians etc?

the syrian war is a war against the allawites, christians, druze, kurds, moderate sunni and secular syrians! Al Qaida allied foreigners and fanatical sunni salafist, against the rest. unfortunately this is the reality and Assad will win because a syria with the assad government losing to these freaks is the worst scenario.

Wrong Habibi.... This is what Aoun wants you to believe and of course you believe it, no surprise there. The Syrian revolution started as a noble revolt against a criminal and his family that tortured both lebanese and syrians alike. He and his father before him looted Syria and Lebanon's wealth. The Syrian people started the uprising peacefully and were being massacred. Don't put your sectarian spin on things.

Thumb benzona 05 November 2013, 22:36

FC, you speak in the past form.... Its wrong. The regime isstill robbing and killing Lebanese everyday :-)

I'm 200% behind you.

Thumb EagleDawn 05 November 2013, 16:34

Where is Michel Aoun, Nabih Berri, Walid Beik, and the rest of these figures...... where is the Minister of Interior to arrest this wahhab... Does the charter or articles of association of the tawhid fake movement state they have the right to fight in Syria. How can anyone respect this country (and its government) when it does not respect itself !

Thumb arzak-ya-libnan 05 November 2013, 16:41

The funny thing is, with the death of these 4 people. The tawhid party lost half its votes, and popular weight.

Thumb cedre 05 November 2013, 20:32

So HizbIran, Tawheed, SSNP have OFFICIALLY sending fighters to Syria, not respecting the government dissociation policy.
How else among the political parties ?

Thumb _mowaten_ 06 November 2013, 14:03

m14 started sending weapons and fighters 2 years before any m8 party did. the only difference is that one side never admitted it and is hiding behind its finger, while the other has the courage to say what it does, and do what it says.
