A suspicious vehicle was found parked near the entrance of an Internal Security Forces barracks in Beirut on Friday, reported LBCI television.

It said that the army arrested two people over their links to the incident that took place near al-Helou barracks in the Corniche al-Mazraa neighborhood.

The vehicle has since been inspected and it was found not to contain any explosives.

The National News Agency noted that the Russian Embassy is located near where the vehicle was found.

Lebanon has been plagued by a series of car bombings in recent months that have been linked to the conflict in Syria.

Al-Qaida-affiliated groups have claimed responsibility for car bombings that have mainly taken place in Hizbullah strongholds in Beirut's southern suburbs and in the Bekaa region.

Hizbullah has acknowledged that it has sent members to fight alongside the Syrian regime forces against an uprising that began in March 2011.

The ISF needs to be very vigilant, because today it is reported that the highway to Zahle is seeing fake checkpoints with fake ISF men wearing fake uniforms setting up these checkpoints. Those doing such things certainly have the logistics to carry out such crimes, so be careful everyone, inform the authorities whenever you see such suspicious movements, don't take risks please.

These reports are true and have become persistent, people wearing ISF uniforms and setting up checkpoints in remote roads and late at night. Their numbers vary from about 5 to 10 men. I advise humbly, that the ISF from now inform that their checkpoints bear heavier presence, like crossed X metal barriers, barb wires, at least ten grey ISF trucks and Jeeps, in fact everything to make the gangs fail in having to produce logistics only the state can. As I said, please don't drive in remote roads, and do best as you can, not to drive at night, Please report suspicious movements, we are all concerned.
