Parliament approved on Wednesday the tobacco control law that would organize the manufacturing and advertisement of tobacco products.

The law, initially proposed by MP Atef Majdalani, was amended to allow the tourism police to fine restaurant owners double the minimum wage should they the law be violated.

Plane passengers and crews will also be banned from smoking based on a request by Middle East Airlines.

Parliament will convene again next Wednesday.

What a pointless article!
It does not add anything that the title doesn't say. How would it organize the manufacturing and advertisement of tobacco products? Does this affect TV commercials? Advertisement boards? Tobacco packaging? How much exactly does the fine range?
Pointless...

FINALLY!!! Actually, there were reports that MEA cabin crew still smoked in the cockpit. It's sad that this was still happening. This law is long overdue! The article may be pointless to some, but its implications are far-reaching and very necessary. We are finally moving towards the right direction.

"Someone" hasn't been reading properly. "Someone" hasn't bothered to notice who proposed the law.

"Someone" is a useless M8 blabber talker.

How about banning Hizbullah from STEALING our Electricity and Public / Church Lands, also from being above the law and a hiding place for criminals, murderers, thieves and simply low-life thugs of all sorts.

It is a good step for Lebanon.

Am I the only one who's first thought is that the real aim of this gov control is so they will have yet another way of fleecing us?

What year did MEA also ban reclining seats? I hate NEA, worst carrier in ME.
