Unknown Assailants Fire at Police Station in Tripoli
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةUnknown assailants opened fire on Thursday at the Sweiqa police station in the northern city of Tripoli, resulting in material damage to the building.
The assailants attacked the building at 3:30 am using machine guns.
An investigation, in coordination with the military tribunal, has since been launched over the incident.
Prime Minister Najib Miqati stated on June 25 that there is no fundamental reason to believe that citizens of Tripoli should keep arms in the presence of legitimate security institutions.
“If we really want permanent security and stability in the city or any other city, then the demands of Tripoli citizens and everyone else to withdraw arms from the city’s entire neighborhoods should be respected,” Miqati said.
Clashes broke out in June between gunmen in the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen when residents from the latter neighborhood staged a demonstration in support of the Syrian people, while the other held one in support for the Syrian regime.
Six people were killed, while some 30 were injured.
The individuals might not be known yet, but everybody knows they are affiliated with Hariri's Al Qaeda - Akkar and Tripoli Brigades, aka Sunni crazies.
Miqati wants to disarm noble people of Tripoli to facilitate Hizbullah/Shiite takeover of the city!!
If Hizb is armed to the teeth, everyone should be armed to the teeth! don't fall into their traps. Either we all disarm, or we all arm ourseves to creat a balance with the black shirt thugs!
