Mustaqbal-LF Ties Getting ‘Complicated’

Relations between al-Mustaqbal movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri and Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea have become more complicated after the head of the LF endorsed his long-time rival for the presidential elections.

Newspapers published on Thursday said that a meeting was held by Hariri’s advisor Nader Hariri and LF official Melhem Riachi at the Center House a day earlier.

The former premier also held two telephone conversations with Geagea, they said.

But the attempts to bridge the gap between them are becoming “more complicated,” said al-Joumhouria.

However, sources close to Hariri denied to Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5) that the two officials have recently held phone conversations.

Geagea announced on Monday his support for Free Patriotic Movement founder MP Michel Aoun, putting him at loggerheads with Marada Movement chief lawmaker Suleiman Franjieh, who is Hariri’s candidate.

Geagea and Aoun, both presidential candidates, were angered late last year when Hariri nominated Franjieh for president without consulting them.

The political spectrum is now divided between supporters for Aoun and those backing Franjieh.

Several parliamentary blocs have not yet announced their stance from the rapprochement between the LF and the FPM, which makes it difficult to assess whether a president will be elected during the upcoming session next month.

Hariri has no clue what trust and vision are. Dr. Geagea answered a mistake by a mistake and rewarded the obstructionist Aoun for his obstruction and treason.

Absolutely correct. Adding the fact that the Caporal is 3ameel and a traitor and can never recover his freedom.

General Aoun is now the only Shia-Christian leader who will be president in the history of the republic.

As a Shia who follows Wilayat Al Faqih, I have more respect for Samir Geagea than I ever did before.

hehehe. You still lack creativity my favorite guest! Yes I also have a lot of respect for you and fake Hakim. Even your cousins at Nusra and Isil have lots of love and respect for fake Hakim and this is why he's the hohorary Emir of our little Emirate Arsal.

why did your favorite presidential candidate visit Geagea at home in Mearab and drank champagne with him?

Can the Caporal tell Ebola to quit Syria? Never.
Can the Caporal tell Ebola to surrender its weapons to the Lebanese Army ? Never.
Can the Caporal tell Ebola to stop receiving orders from Iran ? Never.

Geagea forgot one thing: the psychology of this mareedman who wants to become president at any cost and who will promise the moon and never hold his promises...
Historical Mistake for the whole LF....(whom I appreciate as protectors of the Christians)...they are going to pay a dear price!!!

the billionaire from Mizyara Mr. Chaagouri (no 1 Frangiyieh supporter) has agreed to support Hariri following his financial setbacks. The deal is Frangiyieh becomes president, Harirri Prime Minister and Mr. Chaagouri gets the Gas drilling contract in the Mediterranean sea. Wake up you sheep and stop supporting these hungry scavengers.
