Speaker Nabih Berri has vowed to take action against alleged parties trying to cover up several scandals of corruption that have recently rocked the country.
“All those coming under pressure, whether judges or others, should inform me and leave the rest to me,” Berri said in remarks published in several local dailies on Monday.
“The battle against corruption in the internet and Internal Security Forces files will continue till the end,” he said.
“No one, whether a civilian or a military figure, will be shielded,” Berri added.
Several scandals have recently shocked Lebanon, including the discovery of illegal internet networks and a sex trafficking ring, and embezzlement in the ISF.
There have been claims that influential people have shielded and enabled such acts.

“All those coming under pressure, whether judges or others, should inform me and leave the rest to me,” Berri said
Apart from the irony and hypocrisy, who is he to make such a statement. He is not the executive branch of government?!

Berri leading the battle against corruption is as credible as hezbollah leading the battle to fight the 'zionist' enemy.

I disagree. Berri and hezbollah have always been advocates of fighting corruption and their records prove it.

Not really... There was a time (before I was born). My parents showed me pictures and told me how we had relatively beautiful a very organized country... Railways, really good postal service with home and street addresses that were like Europe clean ... Driving was orderly ... Who knows if it's true but from really old pictures and people from that era, well it looked really nice... THEN the Syrians came in and taught us how to be corrupt!!!!

On another level Berri knows how much the Caporal has received in corruption and must be jealous of him that he received more than him.
