General Security Busts Lebanese-Syrian Prostitution Ring in Maameltein

W460

The General Security announced Wednesday that it has busted a Lebanese-Syrian prostitution ring in the Jounieh coastal area of Maameltein.

“After obtaining information about an organized prostitution ring that was bringing Syrian women to Lebanon under the excuse of tourism and with the real aim of practicing prostitution as part of this ring, and following surveillance and investigations, General Security arrested a Lebanese man, five Syrian men and 11 Syrian women at a hotel in Maameltein,” it said in a statement.

“During interrogation, they confessed to the charges, saying they constitute a prostitution ring led by Lebanese national A. J.,” it added.

Negotiations with clients were being conducted over the phone, internet websites and social media and a number of cellphones and sums of money were seized in their possession.

“Following investigations, they were referred to the relevant judicial authorities and efforts are underway to arrest the rest of the culprits,” General Security added.

In late March, the Internal Security Forces announced busting what it called the “most dangerous” human trafficking and prostitution ring in Lebanon.

Seventy-five women, mostly Syrian nationals, were rescued and around 20 Lebanese and Syrian suspects were arrested in connection with the case, which sent shockwaves across Lebanon at the time.

what are the super night clubs in Maameltein, Churches or Mosques....?

Thumb barrymore 02 November 2016, 19:59

Super Night clubs pay kickbacks to abbas ibrahim and his thugs. These rings that are busted are freelancers and as such are not allowed.

general security is a useless paramilitary organization that

1- does useless arrests. who care if 2 consulting adults have sex for a fee?
2- creates loads of complications each time you want to hire a foreign worker (Because lebanese tend to be bosses not workers, but General security does not know that.
3- has useless officers who bully syrian workers to work for free in exchange for regularizing their papers.
4- costs the lebanese tax payer money.

I say dissolve general security and enough with these big ego paramilitary types. Enough with this farce.

We had a natour who worked in our building for the last 15 years. He was arrested because someone tipped off the General Security. His crime was he had the flag of the Syrian Revolution on his phone. He was tortured beyond repair and "confessed" to belonging to a terrorist organization. The man has not been to Syria in at least 7 years.

The building owners are trying to get him released and were told a fee of 25,000 USD would do it.

I forgot to mention, the General Security has a "list of recommended" and hand picked lawyers who are able to "help you" in these situations. Their fee starts at 7,000 usd and could go up to 20,000 usd. Most of these lawyers are shia and as you might have guessed they are a conduit for the General Security who gets rewarded for nominating them.

This country is beyond a joke.

Now that Aoun is president, I am confident he will clean up the general security and make it a Christian position once again.
