Report: Hizbullah Seeking to Change National Pact in 2012

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Hizbullah is seeking to introduce a new national pact in Lebanon given the various regional developments that have taken place in 2011, reported Akhbar al-Yawm news agency on Friday.

An informed source told the news agency that the party does not believe that the Taif accord “is holy and should not be altered.”

It instead believes that it can be amended or developed seeing as over 20 years have passed since the accord was signed in 1989.

Hizbullah officials are preparing a work document on which they will base the demand to introduce a new national pact, revealed the sources.

Lebanon’s National Pact, devised in 1943, is an unwritten agreement that set the basis for the political system in the country, which is based on sectarian distribution of power.

The ideas of the National Pact provided the basis of the Taif accord that stipulated, among other matters, that the president of Lebanon would be a Maronite, the speaker of parliament a Shiite, and the prime minister a Sunni.

Since I know the administrator isn't going to approve my comments, as usual, because they don't conform to your narrow views I hope you realize that the great majority of EDUCATED people despise cheap media, regardless of whatever side it comes from. You are not doing Lebanon a service by publishing bs articles.

Hizballa is playing with fire and doesn't have Lebanon's interest at heart. Hizb will ignite a civil war in Lebanon to protect Syria & Iran. Ya party of god fear god and let us live in peace.

@mouwaten, u are probably right about what u said, however for ur info, zoroastrians are a minority which is not very well treated in iran. so hezbollah is not really a zoroastrian party, but a farsi chi3a party.
@barbie. what a fresh picture... i will fight them with you
@peace. u are probably right. but i hope u are wrong.
@chrishlau. u are right, christians breed less and are less in numbers than they used to be. But u sound like u hate the fact that christians lebanese have more say in lebanon than their proportion. Why does that bother you? A lot of countries do positive discrimination. french canadians, blacks in the US etc... it is a sign of culture to allow the weakest members of a society more say. Christians are not doing it by force. Most moslem lebanese are happy having christians with them in lebanon. why are u so bothered by this fact?

If extremists like Hezbollah did not exist we would never need a National Pact.
Democracy is not based only on a majority number in elections but mostly on a constitution based on secualr laws that protect individual freedoms and respect the basic human rights.
Once we have this type of constitution then who ever is elected has to abide by its rules and will not be able to turn the country into an ideologically governed sectarian theocracy!

The Hezz are taking the whole country. They must be stopped and destroyed. No Inanian mini state in Lebanon.

First ASSad must be eliminated as soon as possible. They the Hezz must be dealt with after their ass is cut off from re-supply.

Default-user-icon Gabby (Guest) 30 December 2011, 21:45

The time has come to form an anti-Hezz militia. The Hezz are not a resistance, but a mafia designed to steal all of Lebanon. The Hezz are very close to pushing the rest of the country to form a militia against them.

Like it or not, we are here to stay so you keep barking, meanwhile we will expand, if you dont like it then start behaving, be cause if you fight shias, you will loose badly and end up with nothing left.

Finally..
The masks have fallen and we are witnessing Hizballah's true agenda, The creation of the Islamic Republic of Lebanon, a sovereign state.
Hizballah have all the required ingredients: control of the Government, the Parliament, a large population and the needed military might to enforce such an agenda. Hence, the president of Lebanon will be a Shiite Imam, the speaker of parliament a Shiite Imam and the prime minister a Shiite Imam, all wearing Black Turbans.
If I may make a prediction; one of the above will be named Hassan...
Hallelujah...

@ chrisrushlau... I'm not sure if you are aware what the concept of Lebanese "citizenship" is.. or the fact that the Lebanese cannot vote outside of Lebanon. It's as if the moment a Lebanese leaves the country whether to the Gulf or Africa to work or for any other reason they automatically lose their citizenship... I'm not talking about Christians in particular... But the Lebanese in general. Let's do a census and see how many Lebanese passport holders live outside of Lebanon.. Do you think it's time to end the sectarianism? You have 2 sectarian militant groups in Lebanon. 1 - HA and 2 - certain factions within the Palestinians camps.. figure that out first...

Hizb of deceit is planning to take over the whole country once the killer regime in Syria falls. They and their lunatic ex-soldier ally want to change the constitution and share power. The shia want 1/3 and the rest of the sects 2/3.

Hezbollah, as a militia, will cease to exist within 8 to 12 months. If they want, they survive as a political and humanitarian/social entity, however, once Bashar is gone, and then Iran gets bombed from here to kingdom come, they will have no choice but to humbly hand over there weapons to the Lebanese Army, and that's it...it will happen, as it's their destiny. They will not survive, any other way.

Default-user-icon Coolmec (Guest) 31 December 2011, 05:38

Hey guys
Don't worry!! The turbaned dudes will not change anything. They simply won't have the time and resources as they will be licking their wounds and finding their people under their destroyed homes. It is no secret that soon Israel alone or with the allies will wipe out Hizbullah. So just be patient as we will rewrite new rules and laws aimed precisely to shut them up forever.

Prime Minister=Muslem (eg. Sunni, shiite, druze, alawi, ahmadiye, etc)
Speaker=anyone from the rulling government.

Hezbollah can do nothing, acting alone, to change the governing formula in Lebanon. Hezbollah needs a domestic partner. Without the FPM alliance, Hezbollah can talk about changing Lebanon only by force of arms, not by a political process.
That Lebanon is jeopardized by the presence of Hezbollah is now the fault of not only Michel Aoun, but of the Christian Aounists who blindly follow this crazy man under the dilugional belief that though he seems crazy, we must still follow him because "maybe he knows something that we don't know". And where would we, the Aounists go if we leav Aoun? These people need a sheep herder not a political leader who is accountable back to them.

So Lebanese, do not cast your anger at Hezbollah, only, but to its enabler as well, Aoun, Aounists and the FPM

It is the wish of Hezbollah to one day establish an Islamic Republic in Lebanon because we believe that the establishment of an Islamic government is the only way to achieve stability in society, and it is the only way to resolve social differences, even in a society consisting of diverse minorities - Hassan Nasrallah August 2006

Nasrallah's dream could never happen under Taef with it's intrenched 50-50 Christians-Muslims formula.
