Rahi Slams Aoun for Axing Line-Ups, Hariri for 'Perpetuating' Designation
Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Sunday criticized both President Michel Aoun and PM-designate Saad Hariri for the delay in forming a new government.
“The world is repeating its appeals, while those concerned with forming the government are refraining from carrying out their constitutional and national duties, even in form,” al-Rahi said in his Sunday Mass sermon.
“Despite the total collapse, they are still deliberately exchanging fabricated preconditions in order to delay the government’s formation,” the patriarch added.
“The phrase ‘in agreement with the PM-designate’ does not stand for obstructing the submitted line-ups and designation does not mean a perpetual designation without forming a government,” al-Rahi noted.
He added: “The people’s interest comes before all constitutional interpretations and sectarian sensitivities. Together with the good-willed people, we will not allow the fall of the country at the hands of parties that do not want a government and other parties that do not want a state.”

I believe you were designated Patriarch and should also be held accountable for your hypocrisy in the past 5 years. Let those who picked you have a referendum amongst themselves and find a more suitable replacement for you. You should be retired and join the Pope Benedict XVI in his retirement palace.

“The phrase ‘in agreement with the PM-designate’ does not stand for obstructing the submitted line-ups! There he nailed it.... so what is the PM supposed to do? According to the FPM patriarch he should resign and let another PM designated by the FPM form the government. Then, the phrase in agreement with the PM-designate no longer applies:)

Despite all his failures, Hariri still has a genuine love for Lebanon, while Aoun has love only for himself and Basil; that's why he said to the Christian Lebanese to emigrate if they don't like his style of governing, which means corruption on all fronts and the hell with us, which he considers us insect and garbage. Having said this, I ask Al Rahi to either ask for the removal of Lebanon's cancer, which is Aoun and Basil, or let him shut up forever. All his words have become mundane and boring because they don't properly tackle the issue of Lebanon.
