Al-Rahi Urges Naming PM who Can Confront Challenges
Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Sunday called for appointing a new premier who has the ability to confront the country’s huge challenges.
“We call on all political forces to close ranks under their national responsibility, consult among each other, and name in the upcoming parliamentary consultations a Sunni figure for the PM post who would be at the level of the current challenges,” al-Rahi said in his Sunday Mass sermon.
He added that the political forces should “cooperate to speed up the formation process.”
“It is the time for shouldering responsibilities, not retreating, seeing as the country is not facing an ordinary governmental crisis but rather an all-out national crisis that requires the unification of everyone’s efforts,” al-Rahi went on to say.
He also called on politicians to “rise above the selfishness, interests and narrow electoral calculations that are unfortunately controlling the minds of the majority of political forces at the expense of the higher national interest.”

Is this guy really sane? Can't he see that his guy Aoun and Basil behind him are the cause of Lebanon's problem. I used to trust Al Rahi's mind, but now, I believe he's insane in believing that Aoun could bring someone who could make changes. A poor guy who should change job, although too late for him now as he's approaching the age of Aoun. As I said before, the Maronites were and still are the cancer of this country, alongside Huzbullah, and both should be removed to have a real Lebanon.

The main challenge that Lebaon has at the moment in forming a government is that it makes no difference who the PM is, President Aoun will veto any cabinet which he will not be able to use his veto on, and once in position, control it.

Instead of calling for naming a new PM, why doesn't this waffler ask what was wrong with the lineup submitted by Hariri and why was it rejected?! It appears to this so called religious man a Christian Minister is not Christian unless he/she is named by and belong to the party he supports ; the party of Michel Aoun.
