Will Cabinet Session Today Resolve Last Session Controversy?

Cabinet will convene today, Tuesday, in Baabda after its last session sparked controversy as Hizbullah and Amal said the ministers hadn't approved the budget in the session, as it was later declared.
Amal and Hizbullah's sources told al-Anbaa news portal, in remarks published Tuesday, that a new State Security deputy chief will be named in today's session.
Two security appointments were approved during the last Cabinet session causing chaos, as Amal and Hizbullah's ministers said they weren't pre-informed and the topic was not on the session's agenda.
President Michel Aoun later described the behavior of the Shiite ministers as “shameful.”
"The Shiite ministers had not prepared a name for the State Security deputy chief,” Aoun said. “They demanded delaying the appointments until they provide the name. I gave them a week in order to appoint him in the next Cabinet session but they refused, which annoyed me,” the President explained.
The issue was later solved between Miqati and the Shiite Duo, according to al-Anbaa sources, and the Duo will not boycott the upcoming sessions, the sources said.
Amal had said it rejected how the state budget was approved and Hizbullah's MP Hassan Fadlallah had accused Miqati of “violating the Taef Accord,” adding that what the premier “did in Cabinet was unacceptable and unconstitutional.”
The session today will also discuss the electricity plan and the upcoming parliamentary elections' spending.
