French FM to Visit Lebanon in Early March
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has stressed to Prime Minister Najib Miqati in their meeting in Munich that he would visit Lebanon in early March, a French diplomatic source said.
“The visit’s aim is to press the government to move forward in reforms and also to seek tangible results in the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund,” the source told An-Nahar newspaper in remarks published Monday.
Le Drian will also inquire about the preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections and will emphasize that the vote should be “free and transparent,” the source added.
