Cabinet OKs Electricity Plan, Northern Plant Won't Necessarily be in Selaata

The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the long-awaited electricity plant, the information minister said after the session, while noting that the power plant that will be set up in the North will not necessarily be in the town of Selaata.
Moreover, the sector’s regulatory commission will be formed in 2022, not in 2023, while some articles and environmental conditions were amended, Information Minister Ziad Makari said.
Asked about the Selaata plant, Makari said the plant “was not dropped” and that “it was agreed to set up a plant in a central area in the North,” but not necessarily in Selaata.
MTV had earlier reported that Cabinet had rejected the Selaata plant due to its “economic infeasibility,” noting that that was the viewpoint of Prime Minister Najib Miqati and a large number of ministers.

Fayyad should get up to speed on Carbon Trade as Lebanon can rightfully earn $billions by reducing fossil energy (see Tesla balance sheet) not to mention reduce pollution and health cost. From the $45 billion wasted on EDL deficits, only $20 billion would have converted Lebanon to fully renewable energy. With EV car revolution, a $4 billion investment in Giga-battery factory, employing thousands would have gradually converted cars to EV, supplied Middle East, and in time provided backbone for energy grid stability. Tunnels financed by tolls from Beirut and Tripoli ports to Bekaa and Akar would take most trucks of roads, reduce energy and crashes, and improve port attractiveness. Monorail from Tripoli to Tyr to connect cities and reduce energy, congestion and pollution. Even lakes from future dams could be covered with PV panels. Still with our mountains, valleys and sea, wind turbines remain cheapest energy source. Unforgivable waste!

Simple Math for Fayyad, Ghada Aoun and other useful idiots:
A peaceful well governed nation can get loans with 2% yearly interest. Political instability increases interest from 6% to 10% for same loan. Add a country controlled by a criminal militia funded by a belligerent country, interest will exceed 15%. Easy to verify these simple calculations:
A loan payable in 30 years cost:
80% more if interest=2%
474% more if interest=6%
1645% more if interest=10%
6521% more if interest=15%
That is why our banking system and Lebanon are bankrupt. Hizbollah and its puppet traitors (Aoun, Berri and company) have costed Lebanon hundreds of billions. In addition to scaring foreign corporations, ruining Lebanon and Lebanese reputations, eroding productive investment and degrading universities and institutions… You day of judgement is near!

Any project funded with Hizbollah controlling Lebanon will cost Lebanese 10 fold its real cost. Salameh is no saint but any developing country would have been extremely fortunate for a Central Bank Governor that stabilized currency for 20 years. With 7% GNP growth after Cedar Revolution, real increase in wages and real estate value Lebanon was on path to become again a center for banking, commerce, education, innovation and regional headquarter for major firms. All changed with HizbIran 2006 War to protect Iranian arms, destroy our independence and rule of law. This followed by 2 years Hizb and Berri blocking government and destroying Downtown Beirut. Then electing puppet Aoun who sold Lebanon and our dignity for 30 pieces of silver. As Michel Aoun Faustian deal was tasked with destroying Christian presence so this other Useful Idiot Ghada Aoun is tasked with destroying all capital in Christian and Sunni hands. Has she ever prosecuted Hizb’s criminal acts?
