Al-Rahi Urges Christians to Hold onto their Land, Describes Beirut as Capital of Coexistence

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi urged on Saturday the Christians to hold onto their land no matter how small the properties are.
“The Christians should hold onto their land in Lebanon,” al-Rahi said in his pastoral visit to Beirut.
He stressed that “Beirut is the capital of partnership and love as Lebanon plays an important role in this world that has no place for coexistence anymore.”
“We should hold onto our land and coexist with all our partners in the country,” al-Rahi stated.
He revealed that Pope Benedict XVI will urge the Christians in Lebanon to coexist and hold onto their land during his upcoming visit to Lebanon in the fall.
Al-Rahi expressed sadness over the lack of confidence between the political and popular levels, saying: “we regret when we discover the loss of trust between the people and the political level.”
On Wednesday, The Council of Maronite Bishops expressed concern over the ongoing land sales to foreigners for financial gains although they noted that the land sales witnessed drops over the past year.
Al-Rahi cautioned in December the Lebanese against selling their lands, considering it “treason.”
He established with Maronite MPs a follow-up committee in Bkirki to examine land ownership by Christians and the consequences of land sales countrywide.

If you are not happy of them selling their lands to eat and survive, or of them leaving, use up your money. Help them. Or even bring up Geagea, Aoun, Amine and Sleiman, OBLIGE THEM TO BE ALLIED IN A SINGLE CHRISTIAN FRONT , and beeing neutral and treating equally their CHIITE< SUNNITe AND DRUZE counterparts, and you CAN OBLIGE THEM , if they dont want to agree, EXCOMMUNICATE THEM, they will lose their " Maronite identity " and lets see them try to run for presidency if they are not maronite anymore. But no more balls in this country. No more real men that are willing to take a stand and toughen up, rejecting all foreigners, East and west, and working for their people. Just talk. So for the christians to hold on to their land so it will make it easy on them to know whos who and what is what. if you noticed he said beirut will be for every one. So they decided to make beirut as neutral. he did not say Lebanon is for every one. he only stated beirut. HINT HINT???????

I agree with my fellow Shiite jabalamel as Sayyed Hassan taught us, there are no Christian land this is Muslim land, the Christians were brought in by the Byzantine empire to be a thorn in the side of Muslims. So Raii should be happy we let him and his flock live here, if he keeps at this we will tell him to get the flock out of here. Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan as well gave a very thorough explanation about who Lassa and the neighboring towns belongs to.
