Al-Rahi Slams Politicians 'Coma, Policies of Destruction and Poverty'

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Sunday voiced regret over “the coma the Lebanese politicians are going through and the political practices that lead to destruction and poverty.”
In a sermon he delivered at a mass held in the Northern Metn town of Beit Mery, the patriarch noted that “the political authority is entrusted with the public money.”
“We will not accept that our people be displaced from its land,” al-Rahi stressed, calling for a “spiritual awakening.”
On Saturday the patriarch urged the Christians in Lebanon to hold onto their land no matter how small the properties are.
“The Christians should hold onto their land in Lebanon,” al-Rahi said during his pastoral visit to Beirut.
He stressed that “Beirut is the capital of partnership and love as Lebanon plays an important role in this world that has no place for coexistence anymore.”
“We should hold onto our land and coexist with all our partners in the country,” al-Rahi stated.
He revealed that Pope Benedict XVI will urge the Christians in Lebanon to coexist and hold onto their land during his upcoming visit to Lebanon in the fall.
On Wednesday, the Council of Maronite Bishops expressed concern over the ongoing land sales to foreigners for financial gains.
Al-Rahi cautioned in December the Lebanese against selling their lands, considering it “treason.”
He established with Maronite MPs a follow-up committee in Bkirki to examine land ownership by Christians and the consequences of land sales countrywide.

What happened to the Maronite lands that were taken over by the hostile Shiite Hizbollah towns in Jbeil? Is anyone even allowed to get near these town after Journalists and ISF forces were beaten? Let's speak up and reveal who is really stealing the land and building Illegally at the Airport roads, Jbeil, Mount Lebanon where the druze towns are and were invaded by the Iranian money. Can we publicize these facts or No we will be flagged as zionist if we raise the issue.

He also said that the qualitative edge Christians receive under the weighted confessional voting system in Lebanon, whereby in effect each Christian's vote for members of Parliament is worth the votes of three Muslims, represented God's promise to Lebanon that it would not fall into misfortune and suffering. This system is called "equality", meaning the one quarter who are Christian elect as many members of Parliament as the three quarters who are Muslim. This makes Christian parties very valuable allies for Muslim parties to have, if the latter don't mind taking a risk of offending God, who is not stupid, after all. Such partnerships are in effect the slaves making coalitions with the slave-owners, as in Israel.

@Cookie_blind: Let's assume your argument of Jbeil is valid, we rebuilt after the war an Airport, Have you ever looked on the right/left hand side of the road about the "Legal" houses/buildings? How about the nice perfume of Ouza3i for the so called once Paris of the middle east? when Harriri father brought up this issue in the parliament the representative of People/Army/Resistance almost declared war,and now we hear weekly that the ISF being thrown at with rocks and beaten with sticks when they approach any territory that belong to the "People/Army/Resistance" and upon doing their job.
