Aoun says some don't want border deal before he leaves Baabda
President Michel Aoun said Monday that some parties do not want the sea border demarcation file to be finalized during his presidential term, while noting that the cabinet formation process has not been suspended.
In a meeting with a delegation from the Syndicate of the Workers of Audiovisual Media, Aoun added that Speaker Nabih Berri and PM-designate Najib Mikati can be asked about this matter, seeing as “they possess the necessary information about everything that is happening in this file.”
As for the cabinet formation process, Aoun said “some obstacles are still hindering the formation process” but noted that “the course has not stopped and the consultations are still ongoing.”
He also warned against “double behavior” in dealing with this file.

Ah shut up! You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
By “double behavior” does he mean bullying Minister Najjar into signing updated decree No.6433 showing block 29 as part of our maritime border then refusing to sign it?
Or ordering the Lebanese delegation to the maritime border talks into insisting block 29 is within our borders and then telling the local media that our maritime rights end at block 23?
Or insisting on independent judiciary then refusing to sign the decree to appoint new judges, decree he's bound by the constitution to sign, because Mme Gada Aoun was excluded?
Or claiming that election losers cannot be in the cabinet then stalling for months until twice loser Gebran Bassil get a major portfolio?
Or declaring that his block supports the separation between parliament and cabinet and that his MPs will not be part of the government, then insisting on 3 of his MPs get a spot?
