Pope May Visit Lebanon in September
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe Vatican has confirmed that Pope Benedict XVI may travel to Lebanon later this year.
The top Roman Catholic official in the Holy Land, Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, said Tuesday that Benedict was expected in Lebanon in September to present a document on the future of the church in the Middle East.
It would be the second trip for the 84-year-old Benedict in 2012, following his March 23-29 visit to Mexico and Cuba.
Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said a Lebanon trip was under consideration. The Vatican usually confirms trip details closer to the actual date.
Benedict has expressed increasing concern about the plight of Christians in the Muslim-dominated Middle East.
Prime Minister Najib Miqati invited the pope during a November audience at the Vatican.
I don't really know why the pope is silent on what's happening in Syria? Shouldn't he have been more vicivorous seeing hundreds of innocent people dying in Syria every day. Isn't he supposed to side with the oppressed who would lash back at the Chritians in Syria and lebanon because their head has not moved to support their plight?
Trueself. One thing commen to your type, is your constant threats to Christians, that they will be targeted and "lash back" because some don't support what seams to be a Sunni extremist attempt to take power in Syria. Let's not forget the very first few protests in homs and the signs saying the christains will be sent to Beirut? Why would christains be excited by this muslim civil war?
the filthy zionist media terrorist doesn't understand how pope can come to lebanon and stay silent on syria.
how come you cannot buy pope to help your zionist agenda? oh it's because he has more gold than you
Ado.australia: First of all I a Christian and not a Sunni. Christianity in essence is a religion that sides with the oppressed and the weak human beings. As to the signs re Christians to be sent to beirut, I am certain this is concocted by the regime that we all know full well how they were playing in lebanon - the game of divide and conquer. I have no single doubt that Syria is a country unlike Egypt and other arab countries. A country that respects its Christian population. But even if they hypothetically were the ones that threatened the Christians in Syria to go to beirut, I would be the first to support bringing the Christians from Syria to Lebanon (i.e. 2 Million people) and take our Sunnis to Syria. This formula would be more than encouraged not only by me and you but also by the pope himself as well as the whole Christian community in the Arab world.
hahaha jabalamel your funny!
The Pope is not silent ya truself(guest) ... Nor is he there to promote further violence. The pope will not threten the lives of innocent people by saying something stupid, unlike Lebanese polititians who talk rubish like its something they cant live without.
trueself has really some bright ideas. he would transfer sunnis from lebanon to syria and christian from syria to lebanon.
are you zionist media terrorist or are you just stupid like them?
