Fayyad says Qatar interested in gas exploration in blocks 4, 9
Qatar is interested in gas exploration in Lebanon, caretaker Energy Minister Walid Fayyad said Friday, a day after President Michel Aoun announced Lebanon's official approval of a U.S.-brokered border demarcation deal with Israel, unlocking significant offshore gas production.
Fayyad said that Qatari Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi has expressed Qatar's interest in joining the companies that will explore the block 4 and the block 9, where the Qana field is located.
The caretaker minister met with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and discussed with him the need to support the Lebanese Petroleum Administration with manpower and with the necessary resources.

Aoun and Bassil are 100% responsible for our economic and political woes, but could not do it without all the stupid FPM supporters that are frankly traitors. Lebanon economy and GNP was growing at 7% to 10% after Cedar Revolution when our debt was relatively small despite rebuilding infrastructure and Beirut after Civil War. Growth was sufficient to pay our debt over time and put us on path of Singapore. All changed with 2006 Hizb War to protect its arms. That would not be possible without Aoun Faustian deal with Hizb, followed by duo blocking government to prevent international tribunal and followed by blocking election until Aoun, Hizb marionette became president, the worst president in human history! Aoun is a curse on Christians as Hizb a curse on Shia.

Lebanon is under Iranian occupation and hijacked by a political mafia with Nassrallah acting as Don Corleone. This maritime border agreement was cooked by Biden, Lapid and Macron to serve US and Israeli elections as well as Europe immediate gas need from Karish. This deal is nothing more than rewarding the occupier and hijackers by giving them a massive ransom without freeing anyone. This allows the basij and political mafia to build a bigger and more brutal and corrupt prison for the Lebanese people who are offered as a sacrificial lamb. This maritime border agreement was delivered in order to delete an area of conflict between the two countries. It enables the Lebanese Government to permit foreign gas exploration companies to operate in the Qana field, hopefully bringing in gas for the ewconomy of the country with the excess being sold off to Europe, just as will happen with the Kariush field for Israel.
