Report: FPM withdrawal from MoU with Hezbollah unlikely

The Free Patriotic Movement’s withdrawal from the 2006 memorandum of understanding with Hezbollah is unlikely, a senior FPM official said, noting that “there is no strategic alternative to the MoU in both Mirna Chalouhi and Haret Hreik.”

“The FPM’s leadership has interpreted Sayyed (Hassan) Nasrallah’s messages in a positive way, especially that it knows his personal love for General Michel Aoun and MP (Jebran) Bassil, which used to clearly appear in the closed-door meetings between him and them,” the official told al-Joumhouria newspaper in remarks published Friday.

“Bassil will not remove his hand from Hezbollah’s hand, but at the same time he will not blindly approve everything it does,” the official added, noting that “there are things that require raising the voice high sometimes, as happened after Hezbollah’s participation in the cabinet session that violated the National Pact and represented a crossing of a red line.”

Accordingly, the FPM believes that “there is a dire need for improving the MoU without any delay, and it is ready to start an instant dialogue with Hezbollah in this regard,” the official said.

“The ball is now in Hezbollah’s court and if it decides to begin dialogue, we will be ready for it within minutes,” the official added.

FPM is totally irrelevant today as any disposable Useful Idiot after its usefulness no longer needed. FPM enabled Basij occupation of Lebanon and all its institutions, allowed the 2006 War to Justify Hizb arms just when after Cedar Revolution there were consensus to remove them, provided Christian support to the international audience for an otherwise occupation force of Iran's foreign Legion. Now FPM is useless to its master after Hizbollah got all what it wanted including legitimacy for its rockets and recognition by Macron. FPM, Aoun and Bassil are deflating while making crazy noise pretending they are still relevant. These traitors should be in prison to provide minimum justice for their millions of victims. Hizb & FPM are 99% responsible for bankrupting and isolating Lebanon while destroying all its institutions.

The billions of dollars loan from the World Bank that Hezbollah had nothing to do with? You should look towards yourselves whom took these incredible loans after the civil war in the 1990s.

Lebanon had 7% annual GNP growth after Cedar Revolution, great reputation for business and tourism, and small external debt. This in addition to stable lira would have put Lebanon on a similar path to Singapore. All changed with Hizb 2006 War enabled by Aoun cover, M14 assassinations, and blocking government and Downtown Beirut for 2 years by Duo to prevent the international court. All leading to a final exodus of western firms and investments. Since then zero to negative growth costing our economy hundreds of billion dollars. Clearly Hizb and Aoun are responsible for 99% of bankrupting Lebanon. Without them Lebanon would have the strongest economy in the region and successful and educated Lebanese would not have been forced to emigrate leaving our fate to the Basij.
