Qassem says Hezbollah rejects 'direct or indirect partitioning' of Lebanon

W460

Hezbollah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem has stressed that his party “accepts the Taif Accord.”

“We believe that it would achieve a lot of objectives when implemented in a better manner,” Qassem added.

“We are not proposing the amendment of the Taif Accord or the constitution; we only want to lower voting age to 18 years,” he said.

He added: “We emphasize that Lebanon is a homeland for us and for our Lebanese partners and that there is only one Lebanon that belongs to all Lebanese without discrimination.”

“We will not accept any direct or indirect partitioning” of the country, Hezbollah’s number two went on to say.

...meaning: "We want it all for us, our way or the highway"

Thumb sanglierdomestique 20 July 2023, 14:36

It’s your homeland like a metastasising cancer that thinks it’s part of the DNA. Limbs must he cut.

Thumb gebran_sons 20 July 2023, 14:42

Qassem cannot hide from the truth that everyone knows. Hizbollah is a virulent cancer that has infected the whole Lebanon. Lebanon is in ER and will not survive without cutting off this cancer. Whereas Rafiq Hariri with Druze & Christians rebuilt damaged Beirut and key infrastructure after Civil War; restored Lebanon reputation for business, education & health; educated thousands; in contrast, Hizb assassinated Hariri & M14 martyrs so it can transform Lebanon into an Iranian base & gradually swallow all institutions via its Useful idiots. It reduced 8% growth after Cedar Revolution to zero plus sky-high interest due to political instability starting the economic collapse & escalating debt. As in Iran, Hizbollah attacked educated & middle class to insure power by brutal force & puppets. It survives by indoctrination & threats. Never has Lebanon been less secure, more miserable, a beggar state. Sadly, Hizb fans while refusing Iran model are blindly leading us all to hell.

It was the gulf arabs that rebuilt Lebanon. Don't try to rewrite history. Also why do you write Rafiq Hariri as one person but mention christians as an entire group? Maronites did not rebuild lebanon. They sent money back home to fellow maronites and maronite villages whereas it was Muslims who rebuilt the infrastructure and country. Your secterianism and racism shines through your comments despite your attempts to hide it and pretending to be patriotic and wise.

Qassem concern is understandable. If Lebanon is partitioned, most Shia will be fleeing Hizbollahstan. Quite obvious by just looking at how many Shia immigrated to Iran. Truth can no longer be hidden. Hizbollah’s promise to turn Lebanon into paradise took the wrong turn and reached hell. Whereas in 2005 Shia were duped by Hizb to celebrate Syrian occupation instead of Cedar Revolution and its principles of freedom, democracy, sovereignty and justice; there is no doubt that when Cedar Revolution II million plus peaceful demonstration starts, ordinary Shia will be primary supporters as they are no longer duped by duo. All fig leaves have fallen. Shia masses would never want to live in Iranian-type prison state where Basij focus is to suppress opposition and enforce Hijab while spreading misery by spending billions on foreign militias to subvert other states. Yes, it is time to rediscover our unique culture and traditions that has been disfigured by Hizbollah. Bye bye Qassem!

He added: “We emphasize that Lebanon is a homeland for us and for our Lebanese partners and that there is only one Lebanon that belongs to all Lebanese without discrimination.”

.... buy only we the Shias can carry arms, appoint every security position in the country, every judge, and dictate the country's foreign policy.

Thumb farsical.resistance 20 July 2023, 15:46

Sheikh Naim Qassem has stressed that his party has its own independent army that will take the whole county to war whenever it is ordered to, its own independent tax free funding, its own independent hospital supplied with not approved Iranian medications and other locally sourced illicit drugs, its own independent educational institutions with independent curricula, its own independent banking system, its own independent political council that directly answers to someone in the Islamic Republic of Iran, we already achieved our own independent direct partition. What we are against is the rest of the Lebanese looking to have even a fraction of what we already have.
We emphasize that Lebanon is a homeland for us and for our Lebanese partners and that there is only one Lebanon that belongs to all Lebanese without discrimination except the parts we control. Those regions belong to us exclusively and whoever disagrees with our policies will be cast out or eliminated.

Thumb gebran_sons 20 July 2023, 15:48

Do we want a 100% Lebanese solution to our presidential and economic crisis? the solution is Cedar Revolution II million plus peaceful demonstration with no participation allowed from political mafia. One theme: Neutrality and No Arms Outside Army. This is a prerequisite for any reform, accountability, restoring respect and merits, justice and redevelopment.

Thumb lebanon_first 20 July 2023, 17:36

Please. We dont want indirect partitionning. Only direct partitionning pls.

Dear friends, it's time to wake up and see through the deception. Take a moment to look back at news articles from 10, 15 years ago, and you'll realize it's the same old nonsense being fed to us. They've been manipulating us since the tragic murder of Rafik Hariri. It's essential to recognize that they're playing us, and if we continue to support politicians and political parties involved in the civil war, Lebanon's future remains bleak.

Let's break free from this cycle of manipulation and begin holding those responsible for the country's problems accountable. It's time to stand together and prioritize Lebanon's well-being over personal interests. Only by shedding our allegiance to politicians connected to the civil war can we hope to build a better, more united Lebanon for future generations. We deserve a brighter future, and it starts with our collective determination to change the status quo.

Pro Western Lebanese must realise that there is a World war going on now in Ukraine, the whole Western world has invested in ukraine to expand Nato eastward, they do not care about Lebanon or the Middle East for that matter. Not even Palestinian conflict is as important to the world as Ukraine now. A President in Lebanon can only be elected once you people realise that world domination has turned eastward now and even the Gulf and Saudi Arabia realised that the time of the West has passed and the Chinese people are starting to rule the world economy and they are Russias guarantee to keep fighting the war aslong as it takes. Learn from the Saudis and stop putting your hopes in America and France.
Change the dollar to Yuan and we will see this country prosper with new investments and turn away from the Western bloc. We must choose a President that are pro east not pro west, because the Middle East belongs to the east from now on.

Mystic, go back and check historical events. China started economic progress few years after Tiananmen Square massacre when tens of thousands of Chinese students in the US were given Green Cards. Only then when they tasted freedom of movement, thought and actions they went back and transformed China using technology and management skills gained from the West. Lebanon has freedom and democracy decades before China, Russia or Ukraine. That is what made us unique in the region with best education, institutions and media, despite civil war and Syrian occupation. I am 100% percent convinced that if we end occupation and restore true neutrality, freedom and democracy; Lebanon with Diaspora help will become Switzerland of Middle East in no time. Yes recovery can be quickest in the world. Diaspora and their 4th generation kids who never before cared about Lebanon will be eager to help once we’re on the right track, liberated, and replaced despicable political mafia with honest leaders.

We do not live in the 90s or 2000s anymore, times have changed and America and dollarization will not overule everything forever as it once did. Even the Gulf knows that and they have many so called economist experts in their mist.

The dollar will be effectively dead once comodities such as oil are traded in Yuan and other currencies from the BRICS countries. We're not there yet. I advise, anyone who can, to invest in Gold, silver and real estate because once this is set in motion - which is anytime now - a lot of people will suffer.

Thumb jaafar.ibn.iblees 21 July 2023, 08:34

Dear Mystic:
"Change the dollar to Yuan"
I will change all my money into Yuan once your hizb stops paying salaries in USD. I will further liquidate all my bonds and buy Yuan once your Qard Al Hassan stops lending in USD.
