U.S. Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security Amos Hochstein will arrive in Beirut on Wednesday, al-Liwaa newspaper said.

He will meet with Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib and Army Commander General Joseph Aoun.

“Hochstein’s expected meeting with General Aoun will be limited to the issue of the land border (with Israel), which will be tackled in his meetings with the officials,” the daily said.

Informed sources meanwhile told al-Liwaa that the U.S. envoy will likely visit the South to inspect UNIFIL peacekeepers and the work of the gas drilling rig in Lebanon’s Block 9.
