Israeli army chief says Hezbollah will be 'annihilated' if it makes a 'mistake'

Israel's military Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has threatened aggressive retaliation if Lebanon's Hezbollah escalates tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

“This is a war on the home,” Halvey said after meeting with Israeli troops near the northern border. “If Hezbollah makes a mistake, it will be annihilated.”

Clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli troops along the tense border have escalated in recent days but remain largely controlled and limited to several border towns.

I hold the view that achieving complete annihilation of Hamas in Gaza and, to an even greater extent, Hezbollah in Lebanon is not a feasible endeavor. If such an outcome were achievable, it would have likely been pursued already. Nevertheless, it's important to acknowledge the interdependence that exists between Hezbollah and Israel , as they often use each other's actions to validate their own existence and objectives.

Halevi evidently is threatening nuclear strikes.
