Quintet envoys meet at Pine Residence, Le Drian to visit Beirut before Ramadan
The ambassadors of the five-nation group for Lebanon will meet today, Tuesday at the Pine Residence in Beirut, al-Jadeed TV reported.
“French envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit Beirut within the coming weeks, prior to the month of Ramadan, to declare the standards and specifications that the president should enjoy,” al-Jadeed added.
“The president’s characteristics will be based on bilateral and tripartite meetings by the quintet’s ambassadors with Lebanese parties,” the TV network said, adding that “the Independent Parliamentary Gathering, which comprises the Moderation and New Lebanon blocs, will launch dialogue initiatives in parliament after which Speaker Nabih Berri will steer things.”
“Le Drian will continue his efforts with the U.S. side after he met with the Egyptian and Gulf parties over the past days,” al-Jadeed added.
