Bou Habib heads to Brussels, Washington and Canada for talks on preventing war
Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib on Wednesday traveled to Brussels for talks with European Union officials.
Bou Habib will then head to the United States for talks with U.S. officials in Washington and U.N. officials in New York. The minister will also visit Canada to meet with his Canadian counterpart.
According to the National News Agency, Bou Habib’s tour is aimed at “continuing Lebanon’s efforts to avoid a broad war in the south that might escalate into an all-out regional war.”
It also aims to “explain the government’s policy towards the displaced Syrians’ issue in Lebanon and his vision for the solution.”
