Israeli warplanes waged overnight into Thursday a series of strikes on more than ten southern border towns and a town near Sarafand.

The Israeli army said it hit Hezbollah targets there, including weapons depots, military buildings and a launchpad.

Strikes targeted Kfarshouba, Shihine, al-Jebbayn, al-Khiam, Kfarkela, Mhaybib, Aita al-Shaab, al-Naqoura, and Tefahta near Saida.

Israeli artillery also shelled the outskirts of Ramia, al-Naqoura, and al-Labbouneh.

In response to the attacks on the south, Hezbollah targeted with an array of suicide drones Israeli soldiers' positions in Kiryat Shmona.

The group also targeted Thursday the Biranit barracks, the Jal al-Alam post, and military posts in Metula in northern Israel with artillery shells, a suicide drone, and other weapons.

Later in the day, Hezbollah targeted the Malkia and the al-Marj posts and soldiers in al-Ghajar.

Hezbollah and its allies have exchanged regular fire with Israel in support of its ally Hamas since the Palestinian militant group's October 7 attack on Israel sparked the Gaza war.

The violence has killed some 593 people in Lebanon, mostly Hezbollah fighters but also including at least 130 civilians, according to AFP's tally.

On the Israeli side, including in the annexed Golan Heights, 23 soldiers and 26 civilians have been killed, according to army figures.
